Let's see how the Dem liberal SCOTUS justices rule on this one! They MUST follow the Constitution. Or they could be removed for 'ruling from the bench'!!! (Perhaps that's a good thing!) Four SCOTUS seats open! That nasty Ketanji Brown-Jackson goes first; she's illegitimate having been installed under an illegitimate presidency!

That's assuming that the SC will even choose to hear the case. Which is extremely unlikely.
Remember that this is one of the 7,000+ cases that are petitioned to the SC each year, of which only about 100 are taken up.
Every time this case gets mentioned here, it's presented as if it's already been decided that the SC will hear it. That's putting the cart about 10 miles in front of the horse.
People are getting all worked up and emotionally invested in this case, that in all likelihood will not be heard.
That's not dooming. That's being realistic. There's a difference.

Definitely. I say again, serious disappointment awaits any patriot who buys into this fantasy and starts hanging their hopes on it like their favorite ornaments on the tree.
That said, nothing wrong with a little harmless hopium and fun fantasy....what if we get lucky and there's a breathtaking miracle? BONUS!
I understand what you mean. I also have hope that this will go through. And working through the possibilities of what might happen should it be taken up is not only good for morale, but also as mental exercises for working through complex legal and societal issues.
But I also understand the basics of how the SC functions and understand what a long shot it is that this case will be heard. The people I'm talking about seem to not understand that. They are looking at this as if it's a forgone conclusion that the SC will hear this case. They will be completely blindsided should the SC decide to pass this case up.
They're forming opinions and expectations on something that they don't really understand. It's not a smart idea to let people run around unchecked when it's something as important as SCOTUS decisions. They need to at least understand the basics of what is going on.
