THIS! This is why I don't patronize ANY bookstores anymore.
My husband and I were in a small town in Vermont, and we entered a local bookstore. One swoop of the titles and we knew we were liberal looney land. So my hubby asks the clerk, with a straight face mind you, if they have any Ayn Rand books. I ran out of the store laughing.
I've seen these at Barnes and Nobles. Get woke go broke.
Yeah, my hometown had one of those "stores" on the main street. I never went in and I noticed that there were only a few cars ever in the parking lot (prob. "employees").
NOW GONE! Shutdown, pffft. It's now a new location for Natural Grocers, which is where we shop mostly... nice change.
Every. Single. Library.
I can't say that we frequent them regularly (trying to change that) but every time we go, those types of books are front and center in the kids area. It's gross.
Thankfully my kiddos look right past it for now...
This has to be a bookstore, I have never seen a childrens library that had that much room for display. Also, no numbers on the spines! Where are the Pepe books?
i'm definitely seeing the same crap in the children's section at our little library in rural indiana. it's a crime and i'm ready to go to the board and expose them.
You should. Best not to ask that the books be removed, I would think a better strategy would be to ask for a more balanced view. Patriotic books, ones about the founding of the nation, the presidents, and yes, Pepe. A good librarian should want to present all views, not just the ones they like.
the good thing is no kid will actually buy (pick out) any of that crap on their own. They want books about fuzzy kitties, Clifford the big red dog and trucks and tractors and trains.
edit - and dinosaurs
My two year old is obsessed with tractors.
Ya exactly. Just dumb liberal parents will buy and force them to listen.
To their defence I’m also indoctrinating my kids to recognize the bullshit and fight it so it’s fair.
Turn this into a learning moment. Love it.
Indoctrinating children to use critical thought.
Hm, novel!
Where are the patriotic kids’ books? Are there any?
Rush Limbaugh wrote a series of patriotic children's books. See also The Tuttle Twins. Also https://www.glennbeck.com/2017/07/01/12-star-spangled-spectacular-books-for-kids/
I bought all the books that Rush Limbaugh wrote for my niece and nephew (a few years ago) and they loved them.
They were well written and had a clear and fun way of presenting American history for kids to understand and be absorbed in the characters and stories being told.
they banned Dr. Suess

Blaaa- Quote-"Chelsea Clinton introduces tiny feminists, mini activists and little kids who are ready to take on the world to thirteen inspirational women who never took no for an answer, and who always, inevitably and without fail, persisted. Programing" through "uplifting stories" we have to be vigilant for sure.
Barnes and (not so) Noble?
Quick someone needs to make a Trump kids book to subtly place on there. Would be great lmao
Kash Patel wrote a couple.
Brayden speaks up
I don't know what this book is specifically about, but i know it's going to be absolutely ridiculous.
wow if kids can still read today I'm really impressed
