What we need on the southern border is veterans supplied with the following equipment:
M113 armored personnel carriers,
M60 general purpose machine guns (the Hog),
M2 heavy machine guns (Ma Deuce),
M18 Claymore anti-personnel mines,
M16 anti-personnel mines (Bouncing Betty),
M224 60mm mortar
M225 81mm mortar
Problem resolution within a week
I think we've all thought the same thing. It would be wonderful.
Sorry, good idea but all that equipment is earmarked to be sent to Ukraine. Might get a couple sheets of paper and a straw for the manufacture if spitballs.
Ah yes, our great leaders do have their priorities don't they? America last.
And a lot of that equipment was given to Afghanistan.
Thought you were gonna be all diplomatic and I came here ro say machine guns, but you've covered all the bases. They need people like us in charge. We can then use the same model on Chicago.
Sign me up, I'll help with that. Former Jarhead here, still know a thing or three about munitions and shooting.
My last duty station in the U.S. Army Infantry was as an Airborne Instructor at Ft. Benning, GA. Any M.O.S. in the Army that was assigned to an Airborne unit was required to come to Airborne school to get jump qualified. The only soldiers from the sister services were their specops, Navy SEALS, Airforce Pararescue, and Marine Force Recon. In my 2.5 years as an Airborne instructor I say with all sincerity, that Marines are some of the finest soldiers in the world. Highly motivated and disciplined. I salute you, my brother in arms, Semper Fi. Stay frosty...watch your 6...stay alert, stay alive.
And thank you for your service as well. That discipline you speak of is still with me today, and it's been many years since I wore the uniform; but my oath when I entered did not have an expiration date, and I suspect the same holds true for you. Thanks.
Roger that. My oath Sir, expires when I close my eyes for the last time, and draw my last breath. "...all enemies, foreign and domestic..."
Yes, thank you for your Servix, ahem, Service, and I was at that school in '84, Delta Company, the Beer Machine Company....
My Stick was Recon on my Right, and SEALS on my Left, I was in the Middle with a Female Major, but we ALL made it through, and the PT never stopped, Standing in line to eat, do PT, going somewhere, Run, waiting for Black Hat to call your Stick, do LOTS of PT....
Anyway, the M60, she is NOT called the ""Hog"", she is ""The Pig"", so please correct the nomenclature....
Plus you failed to state the Quantity of each....
For every M113, you need::
1 Ma Deuce....
1 M60 Pig....
2 M113 SAWs....
9 M16s...
2 M203s aka 40 Mike Mikes w/Two boxes of Mixed Rounds, mostly HE, Smoke, Shotgun, and a some nightlights....
That makes for a Full Squad of 10 Soldiers and 1 Squad Leader and 1 Asst. Sqd Ldr....
Some will have double/triple Jobs, but that's just the Infantry....
I'll take two boxes of Claymores, Two Boxes of Hand Grenades....
Everybody gets Night Vision Goggles....
All the rest is for Support personnel, maybe one of them will jump on here and give you a good setup...
I stand corrected. 😌 Drive on Airborne, drive on.
Every time this Commercial ran on TV....

Kinda mean, but still funny...

Great video.
You wouldn't happen to know some tall blondy with a Name that sounds like or maybe rhymes with Coffee at the Jump School??
Negative. I was a black hat from '89 to '92, Alpha company. You were there about 5 years prior and a different training company.
Not quite certain whether the Servix reference was an insult or a joke.
Vet to Vet, Airborne to airborne, Sergeant to Sergeant, my direct and unwavering answer, and I am Unanimous in this, is a solid, Loud and Clear, resounding, YES....

😂🤣
I read ya lima charlie, Big Sarge, I read ya lima charlie!!
How about a militia of the general population? This is an invasion. Couple of million patriots could stem the tide.
Bumper to bumper on the border with BBQ & bullets (for the snakes, of course) I hate snakes! I’ve been saying this for years!
200 or 300 gators dumped in the rio grande
Or, we turn Mexico into the 51st state, use military on the gangs/cartel and secure that southern border with Guatemala and Belize.
like this?

THE MILITARY IS THE ONLY WAY
We could use 'some' of that but it's even simpler really. All it would take is for each border County Sheriff to call out a posse. Volunteers would show up, many/most of us with our own personal gear such as clothing, binoculars and surveillance gear, food, weapons as needed, tents and such. We would need comms, or protocols such as merely assigning 4 of us to work with each Deputy. And a clearly defined Mission such as Repel Boarders, not detain and process, Repel Boarders.
In muh Texas for instance the Sheriff could ask for Veteran CC holders to volunteer, we are already inspected and licensed by the State and as Vets we have sworn the Oath. We swore our Oaths when it meant something, we believe in the Rule of Law and understand we follow Lawful orders only. Thousands of us would volunteer if asked.
We wouldn't need much beyond simple Boots on the ground. We would need 'some' heavier firepower in case the cartels fought us because they DO have heavy weapons, yeah. So a few things would be nice, but we don't need mines or mortars, we'd be killing cows and javelinas and innocents.
Boots and the Mark One Eyeball on the ground, with 'some' backup.

The OP is Airborne, as am I, and I was never trained to Take POWs, only repel or dispose, and that is what I trained my men to do also, repel or dispose....
And Javalinas re probably some good eats, so it's kind of a good deal for Morale, and the cooks...
Yup, mesquite + Javalina + pogie Bait....
Yum yum....
Javelinas are tasty, true enough. One of my most fond memories of being in USAF was when we'd have to be choppered out to the missile sites and the pilots would fly through the mountain passes then drop down low below radar and fly along chasing javelina thru the desert, dodging suguaro cactus. Nose down tail up doors open and hanging by your straps, it was great fun.
Morale wouldn't be a problem here, still don't need mines or mortars tho.
Yeah, I love the Memories of the Huey and Blackhawk rides....
Best Huey stop was a Nose Up to stop the forward Motion, and super soft landing on the skids, we all jump out three steps forward and drop, the bird leaves like his ass was on fire.....
Blackhawk, middle of the Night, pilot is booking it, must've been doing like 100 mph, map of the earth, we arrive at the DZ, and burn in to a jolting stop, both front wheels buried in the sand, we all simply slid out on our butts and went prone, when he left it felt like we were going to eat Sand for the next week....
Fun times....
Agreed, no Mortars, Claymores are still a Maybe....

Agree.
I have never been in the military so don't understand what everything on the list is, but it looks like a good solution to me.
