I mean, how would one make money off that? Someone is trying to tell me i won something but i have to confirm my identity by giving them my fb profile info including my password. Lol. What the hell do they want with that?

They create a duplicate profile page of yours. Then hit up your friends list with a sob story saying you've hit hard times and need money.
You'd be surprised how many people pay.
In Messenger it's even easier. All they need is your cell phone number. That's why they hit you up on market place saying they want to buy the product you just posted. But they need your cell phone number to verify you're a real person - or some other bullshit line to get you to send your cell phone to them.
They'll be like we locked you out, send crypto to this wallet to buy back access.
They can probably sell the account to a bot farm. Having previous content posted by a human enables the bots to have better penetration and be less obvious.
Thats a lot of trouble to go to. I've been playing along with this one for awhile haha. I wonder how much they get per account
Theres many poor people around the world Who will work for cheap
It's not what it's worth to them, it's what it's worth to you, to get it back. They steal your identity, then sell it back to you.
Oh. Gotcha!
Is this a trick question? Facebook itself, being a huge scam.
They could try that pw on other accounts in your name.
A 'lot' of people put things into facebook which are valuable bits of info, some even have financial data in there. Or simpler things, your address and schedules; if I wanna burgle you I know when you're not home, what treats your dog likes, stuff.
There are scams galore to profit from stealing 'your' stuff, even stuff you consider useless such as facebook. And facebook has always been a government spy-op; WHY does any sane person use it?
