Thank you, you reminded me of how my Grandparents ended their sentences when talking of future plans. They always ended saying God Willing, or the Lord Willing. I can’t remember the last time I heard someone say that.
Beautiful post. We are all but dust in the wind, and this is a verse I find myself falling upon often because self assessment:
O LORD, my heart is not proud, nor my eyes haughty; Nor do I involve myself in great matters, Or in things too difficult for me. Surely I have composed and quieted my soul; Like a weaned child rests against his mother, My soul is like a weaned child within me. (Psalms 131:1-2 NASB)
Consider this is David, the king of Israel, making this his own practice.
The answer to your question is an oral history existed and was passed down to new generations of believers. Once written language developed this history was transcribed into the first five books of The Old Testament.
After that either the Prophets themselves wrote books or observers of the Prophets recorded accounts from a Prophet’s life. How and why a book was compiled into The Old Testament, I’m not sure. I believe the early Catholic Church chose the books that are included in the New Testament.
I don't understand how this verse gives you any comfort. Basically god is calling you a vapor, I don't find that concept complementary. I have prayed to God my entire life, he has yet to answer one simple prayer. When I was a young child I prayed to him to save me from my abusive home, he never did. God allowed my abuse, he also allows human trafficking. Why?
You were created in the image of GOD.
You have the choice between what is right and what is wrong.
You will receive the consequences of either choice you make.
God is the favourable wind when you make the right choices and the headwind for the wrong.
It's your choice.
So what you're saying that as a childhood victim of neglect and abuse that I made the wrong choice despite my prayers to God. You're sick in the head. I had no choice, i was a victim
I will NOT be victimized by your cruel and heartless words.
My aren't you a kind compassionate person? You are pious throwing around bible verses while acting hateful. I am certainly not a victim. I own my own business, happily married for 38 years with 2 grown sons.
Yeah like I had a choice of being abused and neglected as a young child?
I also like how you deleted my last reply to make you look reasonable. You're a bully!
It gives me comfort to know that God, who created this vast expanse, loves me and is good. He is in control of the end, we get to write the middle. Bad things happen, I'm very sorry. Look at the story of Joseph, he didn't curse God and the Lord used his brothers ill will for good. My apologies again for what you've been through, God can use your tragedies for good as well 🙏 you can use it to help others 🙏
Jeremiah 29:11
For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans for welfare and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope.
“Why do you make me witness wrongdoing? And why do you tolerate oppression? Why are destruction and violence before me? And why do quarreling and conflict abound?”—Habakkuk 1:3.
“It is unthinkable for the true God to act wickedly, for the Almighty to do wrong!”—Job 34:10. (God is not to blame for r suffering)
“The whole world is lying in the power of the wicked one.” -1 John 5:19
That is one reason why there is so much suffering.
Satan questioned Gods right to rule. (Gen 3) an attack on God’s sovereignty
How God handled the rebellion would greatly affect angels and mankind. So, what has God done? He has** allowed** Satan to show how he would rule mankind. God has also allowed humans to govern themselves under Satan’s guidance.
“I well know, O God, that man’s way does not belong to him. It does not belong to man who is walking even to direct his step.”—Jeremiah 10:23.

My dad used to say that all the time.
"Lord willing and the creek don't rise."

Beautiful as well! Thank you🙏
Our Father, who art in Heaven, hallowed be thy name. Thy Kingdom come, thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven.
Lotsa folks in the bible between Adam and Jesus. Any idea what bible they read?
John 1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.
So,...Joeseph and Noah et.al. had a copy of "the Word"? Any idea what language it was in?
Not sure, I just know Jesus is the Word.
John 1:14
And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we have seen his glory, glory as of the only Son from the Father, full of grace and truth.
I believe the Word was spiritual in those days and not written, but I haven't really looked into it much.

You may have had no choice in the abuse, but you had choice as to how to move forward.
You chose to be a ''victim''....for life.
Enjoy the consequences.
You were seeking humility in the bible? That's rich coming from you 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

''You are pious throwing around bible verses"......... quote the verse?
''I am certainly not a victim.''........you certainly sound like one.

Show me how I can ''delete'' someone else's reply?

IMO-
God needs to prove satan a liar
“Why do you make me witness wrongdoing? And why do you tolerate oppression? Why are destruction and violence before me? And why do quarreling and conflict abound?”—Habakkuk 1:3.

If you need God to prove that satan is a liar than why stop there?
