I’m getting a little chub now that my metabolism isn’t as fast as when I was 16. Anyone have any tips for someone without much experience with exercise?
Keto. Walking. No drinking.
No carbs, right? I’ve cut my carbs by quite a bit, but maybe I’ll try going without entirely
Already do. About 30 min per day, most days.
Never got in the habit. I do like a good drink, but it’s too expensive to make into a habit. Especially when I also like guitars and guns…
Go look up how to run a proper Keto diet. It’s more complex than just cutting carbs.

Swim laps or ride a bike or both. You don't have to go all out. Just enough to burn some calories. Neither will stress your joints.
To start, cut as much sugar from your diet as possible; sugar produces cravings. Stop all in between meal snacks. Push away from the table as soon as you feel satisfied. Fast for a day or two every few months. This should get you reducing without any need for significant exercise. Works for me.
Probiotics. A good one can help you shed some pounds and bloat.
