This movie is getting SPICY! This entire fiasco has BOOMERANG written all over it.

But when an animal is cornered, it gets desperate and unpredictable. Methinks there is a deep state threat that hasn't yet been seen, yet. HOLD THE LINE, FRENS.

IMO, they won't go the 25A route. They don't like Kamala. She screws up so much that she can't be trusted even to read scripts.

Ultimately, I think this is about Joe having outlived his usefulness. He's trying to exercise power on his own and not following orders. But, this is politics. Appearances matter. The Dems have to appear unified and strong coming into election season. The US President needs to appear to be unified and strong to project power to bully Europe into keeping this Ukraine horror show going. There are projects in place which need to be kept on schedule.

So, Joe has been encouraged publicly to retire for the past six months or so. He won't listen. He's still got KJP telling people he's running. So, now they dropped a scandal on him. They can easily ramp it up or bury it, but the goal is to scare him into bowing out gracefully. Remember that DC runs on blackmail, a bit like the mafia.

So, if Joey Bribes takes a hint and plays the game, they'll let him continue to read the script and pretend to be President. They'll laud him with accolades, pat him on the back, throw a talk show circuit and a book deal at him. Just follow orders, play your role, bow out gracefully, and support the preferred candidate going into 2024. What's buried stays buried and this scandal will vanish from collective memory like the Mandalay Bay, Las Vegas shooting, 2017.

But if he doesn't, the Special Council's going to find more stuff. Eventually, a decision will need to be made about recommending prosecution. Merrick Garland's spineless and will follow orders. The DOJ will do what it's told. Hunter's dealings will be exposed. Peter Schweitzer will be fed the details of historical sales of influence and money laundering through gifts to friends and family. The book will be a NYT bestseller and dominate the news cycle, and it'll look like the Republicans getting him so the Dems can keep up partisan appearances. Joey and Hunter will be exposed for treasonous sale of influence to the highest bidder. The FBI will toss the book at him. Depending on how much Joe chooses to fight, they'll lay out all their leverage on him. It's an offer he can't refuse... unless he's senile and stubborn and thinks he can BS his way through it like he always has.

Ultimately, they'll rig the Dem primaries and install who they want anyway. I think they've got enough leverage that Jill will force Joey to back down and play nice. But again, I don't see the 25th amendment ever being used. Literally no one likes Kamala. If the 25th became necessary, Kamala would likely find herself coming down with "died suddenly," and would rival William Henry Harrison for shortest ever time served.
