Its amazing what you can accomplish with a HS diploma in the 50/60/70's.
I'd hire either of my parents with their HS diploma from the 50s, then anyone with a Master's Degree today.
Some of the stuff being taught in College now was considered typical Highschool curriculum in the 50s.
I taught hs math for 41 years and I tutor now. I tutor college students whose math classes are weaker than the Algebra 2 classes I taught in the 90s.
After finding out what is my parents my high school classes. Or even school year in general. Versus what was in mine. It was an eye opening experience at just how much got cut and simplified to the point of uselessness.
It is a lot of missed learning and opportunities for a couple generations worth of kids at this point.
Ask a typical High School Student to figure out a 1 mile sq (ea side) that would need fence posts and barbed wire. How much would be needed if there are 3 strands of barbed wire and post every 10 ft.
Believe it or not...That is a question on one of the HS exams from the 30s, 40s and early 50s...
I TOTALLY AGREE WITH BerlinWallCrosser...I would definitely hire anyone with HS diploma from the 50s!!!
I think the this generation is better than that generation shit is just another tool to divide us all. Don't fall for it.
"..wasn't useful nor productive."
(you can have this one for free, kek)
Really? What state assistance and artificial markets did I get again? I forget.
I also forgot...I worked my way through 2 years of college, got a job and then took courses at night and early morning to get my engineering degree. After the '70s fall out of "GLOBAL WARMING" crap, WENT back to school, part time on a Military Base for Computer Science. Had one instructor who worked for IBM and help IBM get the first laptop computer...Also had a professor from MIT!!!
And yes, I am a BOOMER!!!@
Try working your way through college now.
GI Bill before college became an unaffordable woke factory, other special loans and rewards/perks. Just because you're pro-military doesn't make it free-market or bootstrapping.
Only student loans were for teachers and engineers. GI bill? I think that was earned and the price for the recipients was very, very high.
No retirement home. I worked until 73 and then spent 4 years tending my baby and toddler grandchildren.
Okay? You don't have to prove anything
Bend Over and Suck YOUR EYEBALLS out the other end...Apologize that you don't agree with what is being said about the "BOOMER GENERATION" but we paid OUR dues in spades starting with Jimma' Carter...
Go push that line somewhere else.
