I had not seen him on camera very much before now, but when I did I vaguely recalled him being brashly conservative, off-the-cuff, smarmy and overall exuding confident vibes. EPA & more chemicals
How the mighty have fallen. These past few pressers with Gov. DeWine ESPECIALLY the one today are nothing like he existed in my memory. Mousey and mealy-mouthed, seemingly shaken, bereft of any feeling like pomposity, unsure of even the words he is speaking! What the hell is this?

Its interesting to me that Trump hasn't spoken about this yet, and while I'm sure that will come soon, I can't help but to make correlations between these latest events and what Trump HAS been speaking about: namely, Governor Ron DeSantis of Florida. Dead chickens 10 miles out from derailment
My strong feeling is that there is more to this thing in Ohio and that it bares significant risks of exposure to DeWine: not of the chemical variety, but rather the political and financial type. I'd take it further: if the events of the 2020 election and beyond through these last midterms were the exposure of Ducey, Kemp, Romney and the like, we might be heading into a Stage 2 RINO DECLAS. Cortes: show us your work!
What I mean by that designation is the cohort we're now seeing the movie cameras turn to are the embedded, insulated class of RINOs that for one reason or another haven't turned up on radar yet to public consciousness. These are the guys who by hook or by crook have managed to evade exposure of their wickedness, or worse yet - fool the Trumpians into believing they are credible and competent allies!

Yet he has been easily re-elected through the last several cycles and up until now did not wear a Scarlet letter in the wider world of MAGA. Trump's letting these RINOs take themselves out and I'm here for it. These are bad people and they're doing some horrific things... between the continued damage from the shots and now this, pretty soon the outrage will be too overwhelming to hold back criminal penalties. I really believe that.

I distinctly remember Ohio being one of the most fascist of the bunch. It was actually easier here and I'm in a blue state, says a lot about the REAL Mike DeWine.

I am getting these flashes back to the post-Katrina period, there's distinct tinges that this mishandling, lack of communication and lack of concern has a specific reason behind it. Its not so diametrically opposite to Katrina (race-based) I think but rather who are these East Palestine Ohio people voting for, and what does their overall cross section of status say about them?
That was the first question the Biden team wanted to know before deciding how to handle the Federal aspects of the crisis management. Mostly white small town of lower income people aren't the group of people they care about catering too.

Yes, I am here in Ohio and can tell you firsthand that many people here DESPISE DICTATOR DEWINE, myself included. Personally I believe he knew he was in so much trouble for reelection that he colluded with the "farmer, constitutionalist conservative" Joe Blystone to split the rural vote and deny Jim Renacci a primary win. We also have open primaries. Anybody can claim a "Republican" ticket during the primary and vote for Dewine. I believe many Democrats did this to boost his numbers. Between Joe Blystone splitting the vote and an open primary, we were screwed.
He was hardcore lockdown, went all in on the vax, was caught from a FOIA request with Dr Fauci collusion via email documentation.
