Mark 13:32
"No one knows about that day or hour. Not even the angels in heaven know. The Son does not know. Only the Father knows.
Fun fact: This is analogous to the wedding ceremony that was common in Jesus' time. The woman and the man, along with their families, would meet at the town's gate where business and legal issues were conducted. It was the woman's sole choice whether to marry the man or not. He would hand her a cup of wine. If she rejected him, she would push aside the cup. If she agreed to marry him, she would drink from the cup, then a marriage contract was drawn up. At this point, the bride-to-be and her groom would not see each other again until the wedding feast.
She went home to prepare for the wedding, buying her clothing for her and her bridesmaids. He went home and began building onto his father's home to provide a place for the two of them to live. It was his job to build and furnish the home and prepare the wedding feast.
The guests knew ahead of time that they were invited to the wedding feast, but no one, save the groom's father, knew the date and time of the wedding. It might be up to a year before the wedding actually took place. The call to the wedding could happen at any day or hour. The bride had to be ready at all times, along with her bridesmaids. They would sleep in their wedding attire in order to be ready.
Once the groom had the rooms prepared for his new bride, he had to wait for his father to give the order to go get his bride. It oftentimes came in the middle of the night. The groom and his groomsmen would go through the streets waking everyone up to say it is time for the wedding. He would retrieve his bride and take her back to his father's house. Once everyone was inside, the door was shut and locked. If the guests were not ready, they were locked out and missed the wedding feast entirely, as the door would not be opened for them.
Make sure you are prepared and ready for the coming of the bridegroom, else you may find yourself on the wrong side of a locked door.
Your welcome, fren.
Yes, Jesus told many parables in a form that would be very meaningful to the people of His day.
Exactly. Anything else is a distraction.
I kinda think none of them are correctly on target. I lean toward the futurism, but as far at the so called rapture goes, to me it is most likely at the return of Christ, not pre or mid tribulation. Not so sure about a literal 1000 year reign, as there are good arguments for and against. Not that it matters, God's Grace covers us regardless as we try to better understand and learn more.
I find myself somewhere between one and three. If we could combine them. Amen for Grace!
I'm Pan-Trib.
It will all pan out in the end.
Love me some Johnny Mac. (I think he says that too)
Not many people understand it or have read about it. I also love the topic but most I meet don’t know what eschatology means. I gave up on the rapture years ago. The origin of the teaching is not very old and I’m skeptical of being saved when the actual disciples suffered for their faith. I hope it happens but don’t believe in it hard core. It causes passivity and I’m more into building the kingdom these days. I hope the revival happens and we all get clarity. Let us continue to think about these things and be wise virgins,
I have been struggling with which view if any are correct. Thought I’d seek some input. Be gentle with me I’m not much of an original poster more of a commenter.
I agree with u/LoneWulf but I would add that even though the Book of Revelation (most commonly known as) is referenced here it is not the only book in The Bible for end times (sub title in image) including, but not limited to, Daniel.
You can’t even begin to understand the imagery of the Revelation without reading the Old Testament.

Historicism
The same breakdown could be had with the names Christ/Christos and Jesus/Emmanuel/Jeshua etc.
The definitions being key.

This will be an interesting bible study.
Already but not yet. The Kingdom of God is already here but not yet fully realized.
None of them cos they're manmade displacement activity. We're in the End Times, it's a very narrow path and we need all our attention on adjusting to it right now.
