I saw this recently watching a 9 part series on the book of Revelation by David Pawson. I'll give you the summary below, but here is the link:

Here is an absolute proof that the Bible is the word of God. And normally when you hear that kind of statement it ends up being more theorization of If-Then statements, but this is what in my opinion is a scientific, provable fact. In the 1970s polarized light was discovered. It is a way of filtering out bounced light and so we were able to make a more pure clean light compared to light bouncing all over the place like we see in the normal world. A former president of the Emerald Foundation in Britain wondered what would happen if he took thin slices of various gemstones and shown this pure light through them. And he discovered that there's two distinct types of gemstones, either anisotropic or isotropic. The difference is, with the anisotropic stones, the light passing through them turn into vibrant, brilliant colors representing all the colors of the rainbow regardless of the color of the gemstone. However, isotropic stones lose all their brilliance when lit with a direct beam of light through them and basically just look like a lump of coal. Now when you go to Revelation 21:19-20, you'll see a list of all the stones they consist of the new Jerusalem that God builds in the end times.
19 The foundations of the city walls were decorated with every kind of precious stone. The first foundation was jasper, the second sapphire, the third agate, the fourth emerald, 20 the fifth onyx, the sixth ruby, the seventh chrysolite, the eighth beryl, the ninth topaz, the tenth turquoise, the eleventh jacinth, and the twelfth amethyst.
And all those stones are anisotropic. And there are no stones, like diamonds, listed that are isotropic. So God had chosen twelve stones that will look brilliant in the pure light of the new Jerusalem and none of the ones that are going to look dull. This difference has only been discovered in the last 50 years and so there's no way that John, who wrote Revelation, could have known the difference or what to list there, or even been able to guess the stones even if he did know there was a difference. Back then, only God would have known the difference between the two and which ones will look brilliant and which ones will not. That list of stone couldn’t have come from man, without God showing or telling him what to include on that list.
Pawson was a very sound teacher, worth listening to.
This always struck me:
Jeremiah XVII: The sin of Judah is written with a pen of iron and with the point of a diamond.
I don’t buy we’re all going to hell if our name isn’t in some book. The God that loves me is a compassionate God. I turned the video off.
It is because of compassion that your name can be written in the Book of Life.
Compassion is easier for some than others. What if you are just innately compassionate? Does it still count? What if you are just born that way?
We go to hell not because of a book, but because of our sins. The wages of sin is death. That's why Jesus had to die, to pay the penalty FOR us, so we can have eternal life and know God. Can't watch the video right now but if they're saying we go to hell specifically because your name isn't in the book of life, that's missing a step or two. Our name is erased from it when we sin, and kept in it when we place our trust in Christ.
God is full of compassion, that's why he sent His son. Now we can jump for joy, knowing we're forgiven, and after our time here, we'll be with Him in the way it was originally designed to be before sin.
Compelling take. Has me browsing Revelations and polarization.
Thanks for this post. Polarized light and Anisotropic reflection, I'm familiar with both of those lighting effects from 3D computer modeling.
Israel being a nation after 2600 years is solid proof. God declared He would bring them in them back to their land and make them a nation in the end times and it happened on May 14, 1948. Ezk.36 22-24.
Cool, thanks.
I don't want to be that guy, but it could still be coincidence.
I wouldn't call that proof, but maybe strong plausibility.
If you need further scientific and literal proof that the Bible is the inspired Word of God, take a listen to Chuck Missler’s “Through the Bible in 24 hours”!
Chuck's explanation of the 2nd coming and Rapture is also really good.
Hmmm…I disagree. Definitely.
