I think if this woman had an accomplishment of her own, she would probably drop this nonsense. Like say she wrote the year’s most successful fantasy novel for teens. That would be her new identity: successful fantasy author. She wouldn’t need these pronouns to feel important in the world. Almost everyone on the crazy pronoun train is there because that is the BEST thing they have going on for themselves.
Right. This is the result of the "everyone is special" trope and building self-esteem based on nothing combined with the desperate pursuit of attention and validation on social media. The way to build self-esteem is through accomplishment, and there is no need for self-promotion with true accomplishment. She at least seems to understand that her obsession with her own gender and control over other people is at some level problematic, but still she persists in the delusion that it is because she is so complex and nuanced.
