Welcome to General Chat - GAW Community Area
This General Chat area started off as a place for people to talk about things that are off topic, however it has quickly evolved into a community and has become an integral part of the GAW experience for many of us.
Based on its evolving needs and plenty of user feedback, we are trying to bring some order and institute some rules. Please make sure you read these rules and participate in the spirit of this community.
Rules for General Chat
-
Be respectful to each other. This is of utmost importance, and comments may be removed if deemed not respectful.
-
Avoid long drawn out arguments. This should be a place to relax, not to waste your time needlessly.
-
Personal anecdotes, puzzles, cute pics/clips - everything welcome
-
Please do not spam at the top level. If you have a lot to post each day, try and post them all together in one top level comment
-
Try keep things light. If you are bringing in deep stuff, try not to go overboard.
-
Things that are clearly on-topic for this board should be posted as a separate post and not here (except if you are new and still getting the feel of this place)
-
If you find people violating these rules, deport them rather than start a argument here.
-
Feel free to give feedback as these rules are expected to keep evoloving
In short, imagine this thread to be a local community hall where we all gather and chat daily. Please be respectful to others in the same way
I am repeating this Question out of curiosity:
How hard will it be to start a regional television or radio station?
I do recall an article that George Soros and other globalists are buying up independent Latino radio stations in Florida because their programming is causing the Latinos to turn against their Demonic Rat candidates en masse in time for the mid-term elections. If even independent regional radio stations have the globalists scared, think of the panic if the MAGA movement started up their own regional radio or television stations...
Radio would not be that impossible, but it would have to be AM band. Fm channels are available but even if you had spectrum rights the broadcasting hardware is too much cost for even a few people together.
Fm LP (low power) is a possibility. It is about $3000 for the license and another $2000-4000 roughly for the hardware. Your reach is at most 4 miles radius.
I think $4000 would buy you a decent, smaller AM tower, you would need a permit from both FCC and your city (to build or place in a pre existing property) If you want actual reach, 20k would buy a reaaaallly good tower
but this is all going to be very regional even with 20k of hardware. FCC will limit your power especially at night. You can probably push 80 miles easy but the power limit will leave you around 20 miles in reach
Then you have to factor in the truth about what you will be capable of putting out. The sports and corporate Christianty stations are running massive towers with multiple repeaters, and at best they sound like a tin can.
Way better off doing internet radio and advertising locally to get ears.
I agree, although there are potential captive audiences that actual radio can reach that internet radio can't, like people driving cars or doing work around the construction site, or people who are not married to their smart phones.
Although, technically, internet radio can reach them, but it requires quite a bit of set up on the user end...
That's a great answer.
Your question is too vague. It will depend on local regulations and will involve licensing, planning permission and untold costs. Better to buy an existing station.
