The narrative that "Russia is a communist state, immoral and will commit untold warcrimes in a war" has been around alot longer than most propaganda narratives.. Generations in the west have been taught that Russia is the epitome of evil and mush be stopped at all costs. It's going to be alot harder to break through to normies on this than any covid narrative.
The only saving grace is that most normies (at least the ones I know) understand war is horrible and want to avoid it at all costs. That being said, all it will take is the right FF (i.e. 9/11) and they'll beat the war drums harder than any warmonger senator within the US...
Ive been saying similar here forever. Anyone who is old enough to remember fallout shelters everywhere and nuclear drills in school or the 'Evil Empire" rhetoric of Reagan, has had this Russia is evil narrative drummed into their head for their entire life. I have a hard core Patriot buddy thats ready to take out the deep state single handedly that is still of this mindset. Of course he came of age in the late 70s.
Its really difficult getting it through to them that it was the Soviet Union and not Russia or that there is even a difference between the two. Unfortunately our history classes never taught us about the help we received from Russia during the Revolution and Civil wars. They have no clue that John Paul Jones helped the Russian Navy against the Ottomans in the first Crimean War.
In 1788, John Paul Jones, “the Father of the American Navy” who captained the USS Bonhomme Richard in its famous victory over the HMS Serapis at Flamborough Head, fought the Ottoman Empire on behalf of Catherine the Great—as Kontradmiral Pavel Ivanovich Jones—and helped Russia maintain its control of the Crimea.
Russia and America are natural allies and it was only through the greed of the globohomos that we are now considered enemies.

That's exactly why the "West" supported Apartheid South Africa against the ANC/Angola/Mozambique bush war...That's what I remember being told back when I Did my National Service in '80 as we all did...The Soviet Union and Cuba supported the ANC....The support that we received from the West stopped once the Berlin Wall fell and there was no more Soviet Union...Its a completely different story now....
