Yeah, they skyrocketed Bitcoin on purpose to get the normies to think it was a great investment option. Then they scammed as many people as they could into different cryptos. We were given a Bit-dime when it was all kind of new and cashed out at $9k a few years ago. And all I could think was "What bullshit" with the hoops you have to go through to cash out. I think it took 24 hours of some techie stuff my husband dealt with. Would never invest in that.
Exchanges are fairly easy now, but the fact that exchanges are necessary to exchange for goods means that world governments simply have to stop the exchanges.
Money is already regulated, why people think that exchanges are untouchable even legally is beyond me.
Government is simply slow to catch up.. it doesn't mean they won't do so.
Crypto is sent to others from wallet to wallet. I own crypto but don't store it on an exchange and I never will.
I used bitcoin to purchase my ivermectin. The payment went directly from my storage wallet to the online pharmacy's wallet in India. No exchange involved. Exchanges are used to purchase crypto with cash or trade one crypto for another.
I was completely against all of this for years because I didn't understand it. I'm still not sure it's the solution to our problem but I do own some as well as gold and silver.
Honestly the technology to use it is easier than navigating this forum. Anyone who can make their way around here can probably figure out crypto.
If the day comes where cash is scarce and the many people who can pay only have crypto, the businesses are going to figure out how to accept crypto. Silver and gold are never going away but it's hard to exchange silver and gold. You can't exactly shave down slivers if gold to mail to your electric provider.
Again not saying it's the answer but it's definitely very misunderstood. I was one of the people who fought with my son's over it. After many heated arguments I decided to educate myself so I could help them see they were wrong. And it turned out I was the one misunderstanding it.

Exchanges aren't necessary
So how do you obtain goods with it, exactly?
How do you pay bills?
Outlaw exchanges, come down harshly on crypto; who accepts crypto?
You can't pay bills, you can't purchase goods, you can't turn it into anything.
Exchanges are the only reason crypto is working for the moment.
