100% I would have left. If you are assanine enough to stay there, what happened after is partly a result of your unwillingness to do what you have to to get your family to safety.. I don't care about "muh job" or "muh house." There is no job or house worth it. You get out and do what you have to do. Sounds merciless, but trusting the government is not a great plan in scenarios like this.
Easy to say. Most of those people live paycheck to paycheck and are in debt and have no place to go. I agree they all should GTFO, but when you are poor, options become very limited.
FEMA should have offered them trailers (the non-formaldehyde version) a couple of hours away and some kind of unemployment benefit until that area tested clean.
I agree. If I were up to my eyeballs in house debt I'd leave and toss the keys to the house on the banksters desk. They can have that toxic town, I'll keep my health and the bank can suffer trying to sell it. Glad I live where I do, heck if they pollute the lake in my backyard I'll sell and go somewhere else. Although I don't have a mortgage I'll try to find someone who'll purchase it at a discount. But I'm not staying where there is toxic crap in the soil and air. Dead is dead and I want to live a long time.

Exactly But the Obama Biden FEMA is a joke obviously.
