I've attempted to do a deep dive on this claim. The only source for this story is Soros himself. Nowhere else is there any suggestion whatsoever that Germany used Jewish children in the manner he claims.
Now, look at it this way. If Soros is part of the cabal, what better way to kill two birds with one stone: "I served evil Germany" (therefore supporting all the other lies about Germany), and also hiding the TRUE source of his seed capital which he used around the world to attempt to topple governments and financial institutions.
I find it interesting that everyone seems so willing to accept this evil worm's twisted lies so easily.

Some time ago I found another quote of his, something to do with the fact he was fostered by another family, and he "accompanied" the father of this family on an effort by Germany to recover some of the wealth that certain families had essentially stolen from the German people. This could have been the root of his claim. Nor, did it represent a repeating action that he took part in. Just part of a narrative that he cultivated over the years.
There is one person George Soros cared about since his teens and that is George Soros. If he was in a house with his family and it was on fire, there would only be one priority for George and it would be saving himself! It is truly a pitiful, despicable person who thinks solely of himself.
