Hi frens. My mother found out yesterday that she has to have open heart surgery as her main artery is 80% blocked. She's is overall good health but at 78 it is worrisome. She has the operation Wednesday morning. I ask for all the prayers I can ask for. The Lord is good and his will be done. Thank you all.

My mother is 76. She recently had hip surgery which she, I am happy to say, has fully recovered from. I send you prayers, but I also want to tell you this: while your mother is in the hospital, guard her. I mean that literally. No person should be left unguarded in a hospital, even for a minute. Bad intent can create issues for your loved one in a hospital, but more often it is laziness, complacency, apathy, and stupidity by staff that put your loved one at risk. It's not always the case, but it is, sadly, often the case. Guard your mother as she once guarded you as a child.
Blessings to you and to your mother. Prayers for her and you and the people who will be caring for her are headed your way from this tiny town in Wisconsin. Hug your Mom and tell her that lots of frens on .win are praying for her and cheering on her recovery.
Amen. Don't be afraid to stare at the monitors and ask "Is this right? What's happening?" 😊 The attentive staff will be eager to move both of you along. Seriously, keep an eye on trends, I was lucky to save someone from a dropping BP due to pain med OD.
This 100%. Attentive family member ftw when the patient can't do it for themselves. And it keeps the staff from having a chance to do sketchy stuff. Pretty sure it's why my husband is with us today. May the Lord have your mom's back. Bless you all.
This, absolutely. Do not leave her alone. Question everything.
This is such good advice...thank you for the reminder...glad you mom has recovered...
