Mike Rowe is a giga Chad! I have a lot of respect for him, and I still love his show dirty jobs. Shed's light on the people who work in the dark with no recognition that their efforts are even worth the trouble. That's, IMO, why a lot of my generation and younger don't think about or want to do things like plumbers, HVAC, or any other type of blue collar job. It's not flashy enough for them and honestly there's a culture of looking down on people who do those sorts of jobs as "uneducated" or "too stupid to go to college". That's the vibe I always got at least. Truthfully a lot of my friends and my dad's friends who didn't go to college in favor of a blue collar jobs are some of the smartest people I know. Amazing problem solvers with a good head on their shoulders. Kudos to Mike!
What a great article...I love Mike Rowe...what a great down to earth guy...and he is a very talented singer ...opera, no less...
"On Labor Day 2008, he launched the mikeroweWORKS Foundation, which was essentially a PR campaign for the millions of unfilled jobs desperate for skilled workers. Over the years, the foundation has given $6.7 million in scholarships to nearly 1,500 people with a strong work ethic and the desire to pursue a career in the skilled trades."
As Rowe says: “Don’t follow your passion—bring it with you.”
His series, "The Story Behind The Story" is amazing! Like all of his work entertaining & educational with his wry sense of humor thrown in. Watch it and see if you can figure out who the 'story' is about before the end of the show.
His Mom is cool, too! You can see where Mike gets it from.
My brother’s niece used to date him. He said it was kinda weird to hear his distinctive voice at holidays. Not ce guy he said. Niece was/is a professional ballerina.

Society tries to say everyone should go to college, but a lot of people are just not college material.
The trades pay a lot of money and are less stressful that some of the professional degree jobs.
The host and executive producer of “Dirty Jobs” dishes out job advice and celebrates the skilled workers who keep our country running...

It is too bad I rarely use FB anymore because he wrote some great stuff over there.

I’ve really enjoyed seeing his “coming out” as he has revealed more and more his good common sense conservative values. His podcast is excellent.

I remember all the way back to when Mike Rowe was a host on QVC.
