As a home brewer's helper, I can also say that home-made beer is way better tasting than Bud-Wipe. With that said, I am interested in learning to make Kombucha, fermented black tea with alcohol content which is negligible. I believe beer in the earliest days was lower in alcohol because of the fact they didn't have clean regular water, you can't be getting the people shit faced and get any meaningful slave labor done. Cheers frens!
thQ for this additional info, there is so much fermented stuff we lived on for ages:
wine, beer, bread (wild yeast!), cheese, kefir, pickles, ... - all those fermented foods and beverages can be stored, are tasty, easy to digest and very healthy. THE GOOD BUGS!
I hope the story i say about Kid Rock, opening his own brewery is true.

Also look into how to make Russian kvas. Alcohol % is about 1.1% and it is rather sweet. It is made from fermented brown bread water.
