Interesting but expected. Was at a dealership yesterday slowly driving through the lot when the wife said a salesman was running to catch up with me and yep he caught me…”how can I help you?” Told the fella I was looking for a 1 ton single axle heavy duty. His face dropped since there was ZERO heavy duties in the lot but probably 50+ 1/2 tons. Told me to come on in and look over options and they could order one for me AND lock in the price!! I laughed and said I’ll wait a couple more months and those $90,000 trucks will be $60,000 since you won’t sell ‘em and the coming credit crunch will put a ton of dealers out of business. Quietly he said “I’ve worked here for 23 years and you are probably right”….
It is going to get just as bad or worse for the automakers.
Now imagine all the people working in those factories and their suppiers. Many who are located in more rural areas.
And it is going to be a major chain reaction in a horrific way.
and all the EV's will be sitting and rotting..i wonder what the shelf life of those batteries are??
A few years, the graveyards of EVs are hilarious and so wasteful. I wonder if there will be a secondary DIY market to gut them and fit a basic gas engine back in
The shelf life can be categorized as NFL (Not For Long).
They are switching over to EV. Good friend works for GM and they are switching their whole complex over to EV
Cars are the 3rd most inflated market right behind healthcare and real estate. Can't wait for this shit to crash.
I wonder what the markups really are. Heard numbers all over the spectrum. I know they have a ton of overhead but I’ve been told the repair shop pays the expense and the sales are the profit center 🤷♂️
Look man. This rusty 2006 honda civic with 674000miles is totally worth 12g. Psshh im practically giving it away.
Fucking automobiles are so overpriced. Fuck them.
That's the problem when you mark a car uo by 10k and call it a market correction. I was going to buy a new car. Msrp was 47900, it was on the lot for 59k. Yeah fuck off. Not even at zero interest, but that ain't happening anyways
I must be behind the times. My fleet includes a 1981 Dodge Pickup, a 1950's tractor, a little tractor with a Briggs model 29 one piece cast block, a 1943 Clark forklift. All engines rebuilt by me, home built wood splitter, Hydraulic cylinders were cut apart and new tubes and shafts and packing for renewal. I owe zero.
