doctors are essentially scientists. How could we non-scientists have known more about everything than they?? Do they not do research, or are they so dependent upon the "experts" that they cannot allow other information to penetrate their skulls? THIS is baffling to me.
Medical doctors are not scientists. They are essentially mechanics.
A medical doctor doesn't necessarily have a real doctorate, MD is a master's level degree. You get actual doctors of medicine, who are real doctors.
It's just a marketing thing that they stole the label. "Doctor" means "teacher". That's why you had "doctors of the church" before medicine men came to be called doctors. It was because doctors carried prestige that the medical profession adopted the label.
this is a good analogy. They are a lot like mechanics, ASE certified technicians. They go to school and are taught the prescribed methods to diagnose and solve problems for a given area of focus.
They literally only know and are only allowed to do what they are taught to do. Also, the more cars they fix the more money they make.
Also not a coincidence that for a dealership, the service department is a massive source of revenue.
Hard to feel sorry for the doctors when almost the whole medical community betrayed us.
