No. I actually was impressed. Previous to this, I thought Hillary was unbeatable and wondered when the GOP would bring some actual contenders to the game. They did. So many had the courage to step forward. They didn't know that Trump was serious or such a force yet.

And, I really didn't think Trump would win, but was fascinated by his bravado and watched every single event, rally, debate and news clip for both Dems and Repubs, right down to the primary celebrations and hours-long speeches and tributes.

That was when I became a Trump fan for real. I especially was shocked, but proud when he bravely stood up to Hillary in the debates and then roasted her so strikingly in that Al Smith Charity dinner, when she was certain her win was in the bag and took his jokes with happy graciousness, because she had no clue her planned voter fraud operation could be overridden.

I was a complete norm back then. After watching the first few debates I knew trump would win and I was all for it. Trump is actually the only reason I started keeping up with politics at all. He was roasting them all and it just seemed so authentic to me.

I won’t claim I was fully awake in 2016, but I was awake enough to be totally discouraged by the Republican field. I liked what then candidate Trump was saying, but was trying to reconcile it with his celebrity persona.

As he lay waste to the Republican challengers my respect for him started to grow. What was different in 2016 is it was more obvious the Republican holdouts didn’t want to win the General Election, they just wanted to stop Trump.

As someone who already believed there was a Uniparty, the 2016 Republican Primary made it obvious. Most, if not everyone, in that field were running to be the person who would lose to Hillary.

I initially backed, then voted for Trump simply to blow up everything. No other candidate would burn it down to the ground like I thought Trump would because they were all establishment.

And he did blow everything up, but in a much more positive manner then I could have ever hoped.

I am a Ross Perot voter- twice, I despise career politicians and have ALWAYS believed the US Gov should be run like a business; results driven. I am a hopeless romantic for the constitution

I didn’t vote for Trump. He was a Dem plant to me back then. He always seemed to be hanging around with democrats, and people I knew were crooked. So, I voted libertarian.
