"McDaniel suggested Republican candidates put Democrats on the defensive by asking if they support late-term abortion, which some consider to be infanticide."
The way you say it, it's like you know you can't win with the Republican position on abortion. Despite poll after poll repeatedly and consistently showing 60% support for the pro-life position with exception for rape/incest, you think that position is a loser.
This is one that that annoys me about pundits. They're afraid to engage. After every mass shooting, the right clams up and refuses to make the pro-gun rights position. They let the Left dominate the discussion by ceding the floor and letting them say whatever they want. And now we're being told to do the same on the issue of life.
No wonder we lose.
Either we stand up and defend our positions or admit our positions aren't as good as the other side. Conservatives have to figure out how to talk about these positions and convince others. These aren't small questions. They're fundamental questions about the value of human life as with abortion and about the basic right of a person to defend his life and his property with the gun debate. These shouldn't be difficult positions to defend.
Why is defending the pro-life position so difficult? Polls tell us consistently that 60% of people agree with the position. There's 80-90% support for the exceptions for rape and incest, so that's an easy position to take, even if you're in a very religious district.
Republicans constant screw up the messaging here and end up looking heartless. It's not a small issue either, because this is a major issue for the young fertile female demographic, the demographic of young women who are now out-earning young men and who will in the future hold more political power. We can't afford to simply cede that demographic to the socialist atheists.
And that means we need to start listening to why women seek out abortions in the first place. Remember, women support the pro-life position. Ask them individually if they'd want to have an abortion and they'll tell you no. Ask a woman who's pregnant if she wants to deny the lift growing inside her, or to end it, and she'll be even more emphatic about it. Women aren't stupid. They seek out abortions because they feel like the kid is going to ruin their lives in some way or other. It will be an unbearable burden financially, emotionally, socially, whatever. They seek out abortions for a quick fix out of desperation.
If you want to win on abortion, listen to these women, and support policies that help them make the right choices, the choices they already want to make, but feel they can't. Examples:
Support contraception. If you don't want unwanted pregnancies, help people not get pregnant. They aren't going to stop having sex, so make contraception easier to get. It's cheap and effective. If young people aren't ready for a baby, they should be using contraception.
Support making men responsible for their half. They did their half to create their life, and then when that girl they hooked up with tells him she's knocked up, they run without consequence. That's BS. He should be responsible for his half of the costs until that baby is born and can be given up for adoption: prenatal care and delivery costs. No more cutting and running from his responsibilities after he gets his fun and leaving the woman with the bill.
Provide proper welfare support for families raising kids. No, you can't abandon the single mothers, but the financial support should be more generous to couples who commit to stay together to raise children. Let's de-incentivize welfare queens and give the man a financial incentive to stay. Let's help families stay together.
I can go on, but you get the point. This should be an easy sale. We shouldn't be dodging this issue when we hold the moral high ground.
She’s unrecognizable with all the fillers, Botox and whatever surgery she’s had, but still recognizable in that she is still trying to undermine the R party.
I don’t believe she won her election fairly and she was “selected” to be there for such purposes.
How much plastic surgery has she had? Looks like a completely different person but her RINO ways have not changed.
Looks like she lost weight.
I came here to say the same thing.
The clown Ronna McDonald,.... errr, I mean McDaniel is a controlled asset. Her election as chairwoman was blatantly rigged.

They'll just talk about 11 year old rape victims.

This is why Trump won’t debate the RINOs - can you imagine the RINOS being asked these questions?

Romney through and through.
Up vote for "slimebucket Ronna McDaniel."

What a complete FAKE she is.
Is she doing the bid of her a Uncle-Trump hater Mitt Romney?
Another installed idiot.
