passed from committee today with bipartisan support. Since our legislature has a Republican super majority, I anticipate it passing. I don't think Dumb bel Edwards, our governor, will veto it. Even if he does, we have that super majority.

My husband attended the session. It lasted over 5 hours. He said he thinks it's the closest he will ever come to attending a Jerry Springer type show. He said the doctors who went in front of the committee to ask them to okay the surgeries sickened him.

The pro surgery trannies who appeared hurt their case more than helped. One had a meltdown after it passed and had to be carried out of the chamber screaming and carrying on.

Two girls who underwent the mutilation as young teens appeared and said it has badly affected their lives. They pleaded with the committee to ban the surgeries. One said, "Doctors medicalized me, starting puberty blockers and testosterone at 13-years-old," she said. "I didn't know what things like cervixes or ovulation were, or how the full menstrual cycle worked yet, but I was cleared by adults who had a full understanding of such things to make a decision that would affect my fertility, the ongoing development of my sexual organs, and the complex process unique to me as a woman." Cole said she was "given a double mastectomy" in the "name of political ideology" at the age of 15.
