Thanks, I'll look into this. I have been getting eaten up by mosquitoes already, sometimes even after I spray myself with a product that's supposed to keep them away. The few times when I saw them biting me, I noticed that they are the black & white ones. I just read they bite during the day & are aggressive.

I heard that mosquitoes don't like used coffee grounds, so I'm going to try making a coffee type spray to spray myself with to see if it works. I've been spreading used coffee grounds into my garden soil because ants don't like it, helps keep ants out of the garden.
Plant Citronella, use citronella candles. Make sure you aren't using vanilla scented products or eating bananas. Wear clothes that cover your skin.
Pre-season preventative is checking your property for standing water. Dump it out! It's a breeding ground for the mosquitoes. Look for old pots, tires, birdbaths, etc.
I know about all the preventative stuff, I leave in the south (lower Al.) and most of my childhood/growing up yrs in Fl. This is the start of the mosquitoes and it will get much worse by summer. If I always covered up my whole body I would pass out from the heat down here in the summer. I’d probably have to wear a darn bee suit to not get bit. They are just attracted to me unfortunately, wish I wasn’t so popular to them, lol. Thanks for all the advice! I didn’t know about the vanilla scent or bananas.
I'm in Alaska, so easier to cover up until it gets hot.. like 76-83 F.. lol
I did find Sun guard sleeves which guard from the rays and mosquitoes and keep cool.
I heard mosquitoes are horrible in Alaska, I would have thought it would be too cold for them there.
I'll have to look up the sun guard sleeves, because not only to the mosquitoes get me, I'm also very pale skinned. I can't win for losing, lol
Have you looked up citronella spray as a bug repellent?
Last year I had a few good sized citronella plants that were supposed to help keep them away, yeah that didn’t work unfortunately. I would get bit standing beside them, lol. Like one time I was actually touching on the plant and one landed on my hand. I’m like a freaking magnet for them, ugh!

As I’ve said on other posts before about the little blood suckers, I think it’s my blood type (O-) that draws them (even ants) to me. Even when others are standing around, they come bite me. I’ve always have had issues with mosquitoes biting me. It sucks!
They dont like coffee, plant coffee trees too, drink black coffee, they bite less, citronella lemon grass also, white clothes
the sales of bug zappers will be going thru the roof!
They have been doing it in Southern Florida too. I wrote everyone I could think of and not one response. Disgusting!
We use 50 gallon blue plastic drums filled with water. Wait 2-4 weeks. Check for squiglies (larva). When they show up, drop a few goldfish guppies in. The mossies will habituate to the drums.

If you read the website for the Hawaii plan at Birds, Not Mosquitoes, it sounds harmless. But then, you see that number in the change.org petition, 64,666 acres. 666? (Symbolism is their downfall.) If you don't live in Hawaii, you can still support this petition by signing or sharing it for others to possibly support.
