There's no downplaying this loss, the entire world now sees Ukraine can't defend a single city even if they throw everything they've got at it. Talking about an imminent counteroffensive for half a year while begging for weapons isn't helping their narrative either.
Everyone is getting sick and tired of the lies and Ukraine will have to negotiate a surrender sooner rather than later if they want to continue to exist.

Bakhmut was important because it was the stronghold that held the entire eastern front line together. That is because the Russians couldn't bypass it as there was a risk of being flanked by Ukrainian counters.
The Ukrainians have a large second front line behind Bakhmut but it is not as fortified and more out in the open which is not good against Russian artillery.
Once the Russians clean up the rest of the eastern front all that is left for Ukraine is to fall back further than the second front line established behind Artyomovsk.
The problem I have with the Wagner group is that they are Russia's own Nazis. So Wagner fighting Azov is essentially Nazi on Nazi violence. Weird, huh? What is also strange is that unlike the USA, Nazism is prohibited. Yet the Wagner types get away with it. So strange.
Make no mistake though: I am on Russia's side. I'm just not fond of Wagner Group.

If it makes you feel any better, the Wagner group are taking most of the casualties and are being drained while Russian military does the clean up.
Even nazis are human and if they are willing to go against the satanists then I will gladly have a Nazi on my team.
