I am going to disagree. A warrior fights. That is the very definition of a warrior. Fighting for good or bad, it is irrelevent. A good warrior fights because he has to. A bad warrior fights because he wants to. The statement that no one has the right to take a life is complete nonsense. The entire world is founded on survival. Why you take a life will determine if you are good or bad, but the simple fact of taking a life is not inherently good or bad, it is based upon the circumstances. This level of denying reality makes good quotes for those easily swayed by lovely ideas, but it does nothing for those who have ever fought to survive and it certainly does not reflect the reality that this world exists in. Sitting Bull may have been a great man, but the battle of Little Big Horn proved that these words were uttered to tickle the ears of the gullible. Make no mistake, he was a Good warrior that fought to defend his people and they were right to kill the US Army soldiers that came to massacre and subdue his people, but these words are in direct opposition to his actions. I would far more respect a statement that warriors fight for Justice and Righteousness and the defense of the innocent than this sort of platitude.
not exactly. that's just standing up for your rights and principles. the self-sacrifice would be feeling the shame of allowing your children to suffer. it is no sacrifice to do right by your self, your family, and your countrymen. it is of the greatest benefit to yourself.
yes, Sitting Bull believed in keeping his family strong & was similar to SunTzu, an Alpha that used strategy to outwit the enemy. win without actually fighting/to be so close to the enemy without engaging/coup stick.
I think you're correct;) thanks for reminding me of a word we don't often see; a few great thinkers over time/would be on that level. and interesting to me; when I see photos, paintings, etc. they look similar; have the same spark/posture
Jesus said something not too far from this: (John 10: 11 - 18)
“I am the good shepherd; the good shepherd lays down His life for the sheep.
“He who is a hired hand, and not a shepherd, who is not the owner of the sheep, sees the wolf coming, and leaves the sheep and flees, and the wolf snatches them and scatters them. He flees because he is a hired hand and is not concerned about the sheep."
“I am the good shepherd, and I know My own and My own know Me, even as the Father knows Me and I know the Father; and I lay down My life for the sheep. “I have other sheep, which are not of this fold; I must bring them also, and they will hear My voice; and they will become one flock with one shepherd."
“For this reason the Father loves Me, because I lay down My life so that I may take it again.
“No one has taken it away from Me, but I lay it down on My own initiative. I have authority to lay it down, and I have authority to take it up again. This commandment I received from My Father."

Well, the warrior is ready to die for his beloved, that’s why was meant, I believe.

I'd wager they were sigma males. Had to use the term since I just found out about it!

He sounds as based on Solid Rock as can be:

Would he actually say “the future of humanity “?
That's exactly what I thought warriors were.
If only more people believed this way.
