Bannon uncovered something huge on War Room just now
LET'S GOOoOoooo!!!
He'd heard from Durbin that McCarthy INSISTED on making the deal based on two years not one. So Bannon asks Eli Crane as one of the Republicans "did McCarthy insist on this?" Crane - "Yes. Because McCarthy believes the party will be weaker a year from now so I want to push it out 2 years."
What does McCarthy know about what they will do to Trump in the next year???

McCarthy was the one who wanted a 2 year budget not 1 year. Because he told the Republicans that he believes the Republican party will be in a much weaker position one year from now. During the Primary. Someone has shared their plans with him.
Perhaps "someone had shared their plans with him". Evil plans.
Perhaps this guess will turn out to be correct.
However, based on realpolitik pragmatism, what McCarthy said is true without adding any darker interpretations.
EVERY House Rep will be facing primary and/or general election contests so they WILL all be " in a weaker position one year from now".
Do I know? Nope. I can't read Kevin's mind.
Consequently, I'm not taking any bait that triggers emotional poisons or tempts me to become mentally distracted from what President Trumps asked me to FOCUS on; winning the primary battles so he's the Republican nominee.
Yes, their Congressional seats will all be challenged in the next elections. If they can't stop Trump and they accept that then Plan B is taking back Congress in a huge way. I don't see that as automatically making them weaker during primary season next year but I don't think like Kevin thinks.
Why would the primary put the party in a weaker negotiating position than now no matter what they do? If they were to steal it for DeSantis then wouldn’t they view that as a stronger position if they think Trump is a liability?
They KNOW how much support Trump has. We would tear the Republican Party limb from limb and they know it.
If Trump somehow stays out of jail and wins the Republican primary then he should drop out of the race as a Republican, leaving them with no candidate, and then run as an independent, with no Republican running for president. That’s the kind of October surprise and “change of batter” that I would support.
Split the vote, and Dems win it all.
BAD idea.
Thank you.
Why would they be weaker? That is the part I don't understand.
THAT is a question for McCarthy. Why would he believe that? Why did no one in the room ask him what he meant? I don't see how it would be.
OK, so it isn't just me.
