If the pilot was incapacitated why did it make two direct passes over DC? One on the way to New York, and the other when it came back. What are the odds of a incapacitated pilot even making that turn and coming directly back? Pretty damned long odds I think.
I wonder if this could happen if the pilot had programmed the return route in the autopilot ahead of time. So the crew is incapacitated by whatever - the plane flies to the destination but the pilot doesn't land so since the first waypoint was achieved so the autopilot moved on to the next waypoint.
The plane just turned around and was heading home but ran out of fuel and crashed.

Exactly what I was thinking. Testing Air Force response time makes the most sense, but what do I know?
Maybe this will help you guys 🤷!

Well, kind of doubtful the plane went over DC twice before anyone got it together. Very very doubtful.
it crashed on Castle rock mountain
Is it possible the plane was a remote controlled WH decoy/distraction?
