When I signed up for FB many years ago, I used a fake birthday. Now I get Happy Birthday messages on the fake birthday :) (yes, I know, "Why are you on FB?" and the answer is, I like to know what people I know are doing, and I also post info they need to see (although almost all the people who need to see it have my posts blocked :) )
Ditto (not the birthday part)
I use Firefox on a PC to access Facebook and Instagram. There is a Firefox extension that I use to keep FB and IG in special Facebook Container tabs that:
What does it do? Facebook Container works by isolating your Facebook identity into a separate container that makes it harder for Facebook to track your visits to other websites with third-party cookies.

Proud to say I never joined DARPA/CIA's LifeLog project. And I never will. Just say no.
They're giving you a free opportunity to throw bad data at them. I don't know why people don't use it. You're easier to find when you try to hide.
So, exactly where are the privacy practices? I don't see any.
I totally regret joining Facebook. Totally got sucked into it. My fault. I was raising young children and my older special needs child. I felt very isolated from the world. I used it to join groups like homeschoolers and parents of special needs kids. Then recently I joined a couple of widow groups and have been using marketplace to sell things I don’t need since my husband passed. But someone hacked my Comcast.net email and then Hijacked my Facebook. All attempts to get it back so far have failed. It’s really hurting me.
No thanks!
I use the browser for every app I can, including FB. I don’t have the messenger app either. For messaging I use https://mbasic.facebook.com/ I have a fake account so don’t care. They’re still gathering data on me.
