I used to live in Minneapolis in the 1980s. It was a lovely city back then. Not perfect, but great in so many ways. (When I say, "Not perfect", I am mostly referring to the very sad state of the Native American population within the city back then. Too much homelessness and substance-abuse challenges among that population and it was just so sad to see.) The city itself has like 19 lakes in the city limits and Prince was king (pun intended) back then. The University campus was amazing and spanned both sides of the Mississippi river. It was just beautiful.
I occasionally drive through there even now and it's painful to see what's happened to it.
You can be Somali or American, but you can't be both. There is no such thing as Somali-American, African-American, Scottish-American, Lithuanian-American, ad nausium ad infinitum. Hyphenated Americans don't exist. If you don't want to claim the title, "American", take your pencil neck, bird chested, foo foo self to whatever nation you want to be called by.
This has been business as usual in downtown for several years now, especially since the George Floyd fiasco… I blame the Mayor/City clownsul and Governor Tim Jong Walz… another liberal city in decline…
