Hearing from people I know that in NY, theaters are sold out but when people go in to take their seats, only a dozen seats were filled. This is either people paying it forward and then nobody taking those seats, OR the Deep State is buying up the seats so that the theater is sold out so that the word does not get around.
I bought 5 tickets but they were not for a specific showing. They must be claimed and then the person goes to a showing so I don't see how the seats would be empty because no one took those seats.
This is a War. Battle 1 was getting screen expansion on July 4 by buying up all the tickets in targeted theaters. Battle 2 is now getting butts in seats so they can be "weaponized" to spread the word and buy more tickets for others themselves (per the special message at the end of the movie).
The theater I targeted dramatically expanded showings for Wed-Sun which is officially the "premiere weekend" after the July 4 sellout of 3 showings. We may only get 2 weekends of massive momentum. Ticket purchases are accelerating on track to hit nearly 1.9M by Sunday.
Upcoming battle is getting full digital distribution when it is time. This is why Angel Studio setup their website and streaming operations.
