This was posted on Twitter. Is she carrying "the football" supposedly? Her patches and insignia are legit?

No years of service hash marks on her sleeves. LT colonial did not get that rank under 3 years of service. Unit patches are worn on right shoulder, Only combat patches ( the unit you served with during combat) worn on the left shoulder. That is not a combat patch or unit patch. Also wearing airborne wings.
Although your comment is reasonable. Service stripes are worn by enlisted. This highly "decorated" LTC is an officer uniform. What stands out to me is it looks like a bronze star ribbon award which is award for heroism NOT involving aerial flight and the uniform has airborne and aviator wings. And i cant quite make it out but looks like a purple heart ribbon with 2 gold oak leaves, so essentially 3 purple hearts. Along with the US Army shoulder patch which I have never seen worn when I was in service. Edit- I found the reason for the US Army shoulder patch as not a SSI but signifies US Army Accessions Command assigned to Department of the Army HQ. So could be legit.
And that fucking HAT!!!
I know. Threw me off too but it is also accurate for a woman AGSU, I had to look that up also.
That's what stuck out at me, looks like Colonel Hogan on Hogans Heros. LMFAO.
LOL. You are exactly right!!
KLINK
I thought it was a Purple Heart too, but it’s a Meritorious Service Medal with oak leaf cluster (https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Meritorious_Service_Medal_(United_States)
Thanks for clarifying. I didnt have time to take the image and zoom in anymore than the default. Sure looked like it at first though.
Didn't the officers have Bars for number a months over seas? Gold for Combat and silver for support. I KNOW it was in a movie, but I that was Thing from Another World and the Fly-boys (all officers) had bars on their sleeves. 3 or 4
I've been out of the service for over 23 years now so alot could have changed or I simply don't remember details of anymore. But what i recall is enlisted display service stripes commissioned did not. Only other difference is depending on the branch of service for marines, navy and coast guard and red or gold depending if overseas or not. I do not recall a silver service stripe. The army does have a horizontal gold service stripe for overseas but worn on right arm sleeve.
No
can anyone Ident the ribbions. I'll bet you could find a lot of stolen valor there.
Officers do not wear YOS hash marks. Only combat hashes.
