My niece got fired mysteriously from her first teaching gig. Her much younger husband went to that school... Not sure, but seems odd to me... Then she was laid off after getting her masters, she taught theatre and the kids got into a paint fight and ruined the stage curtain that costs 20K.
They have been married about 10 years and have 3 kids.

17 year old student. I read in the article's comments that a guy enlisted in the military and went to war. Where is the cut off line between being a child and being a man? Is it seventeen years and one day or seventeen years and 364 days? What if the student had been doing it with his girlfriend? Does that make him a child still? Yea, I understand that students in our schools need to have a great time while in school without the pressures of a teacher hitting on you, but also a bit of understanding about the huge affect testosterone has on a seventeen year old kid who has a female teacher willing to relieve the pressure.
This is where I leave it up to a twelve person jury. They need to come together and debate the intricacies of the case and if any other factors come into play, take those into account. Now, if it were a twelve year old girl and a male teacher......bury the teacher under the school.
Doesn't justify the acts of the teacher, but in the case of a boy post puberty, having sex with a female teacher probably isn't causing him much damage. Heck when the tryst is revealed he is a big shot on campus... Still the teacher should be prosecuted.
Some countries the legal age is 12, but I always heard it's 18 in U.S. I was told that when asked to pull my teeth. No parents signature, no pulling. That's in Oregon, blue state.
I understand what you are saying though. Seems like kids are growing up faster now.
Different states have different ages of consent. Some specify the legally permitted age difference between the parties if one of them is below a certain age.
I just heard WA, recently, without age consent. Can you say pedo in control?
