Welcome to General Chat - GAW Community Area
This General Chat area started off as a place for people to talk about things that are off topic, however it has quickly evolved into a community and has become an integral part of the GAW experience for many of us.
Based on its evolving needs and plenty of user feedback, we are trying to bring some order and institute some rules. Please make sure you read these rules and participate in the spirit of this community.
Rules for General Chat

-
Feel free to give feedback as these rules are expected to keep evoloving
In short, imagine this thread to be a local community hall where we all gather and chat daily. Please be respectful to others in the same way
So my wife suffered a concussion 4 years ago when she was hit by a car while riding her bicycle to work. No helmet. I'd thought of buying her a helmet, but I never got around to it and she probably would not have worn it even if I did get her one. Anyhow, she suffered a concussion and lost her sense of smell, which greatly diminished her sense of taste. I was researching that sort of thing before the plandemic, and had read plenty of testimonies of people going back over a decade in which they'd caught real bad colds and lost their sense of taste/smell permanently. Made me question whether "Covid-19" was really new or not.
Anyhow, last year I was reading about lion's mane mushroom (I'll call it LMM for short). It's a silly-looking mushroom that looks like a shaggy lion's mane. (I imagine them dancing and singing on the Muppet Show when I see pictures of these mushrooms.) It is known in Chinese medicine for its neural healing properties, repairing damaged nerves and even re-growing nerves. I bought a bag of LMM powder for my wife last winter but she's always skeptical of taking any natural supplements. So we've had that bag for months already, and last month I began taking it. I found out that I can buy organic LMM powder locally here in Japan online and it's cheaper than importing it from the USA. My mind feels clearer. I'm sleeping better too. I'd been taking melatonin every night for half a year, but lately I haven't been taking it. My mood is elevated too. From what I have read, it boosts cognitive function, focus, memory, reduces depression and anxiety, helps fat metabolism, and also has anti-cancer properties.
I know a gal from my college days who was diagnosed with MS back then. She's been wheelchair bound for over two decades. I suggested that she might try LMM because it might help alleviate her symptoms. You can do some research for yourself. Hop on Yandex and search for lion's mane mushroom plus MS or other stuff including autism, etc. Myelin is a membrane that wraps around the axons of a nerve cell such that it is also called the myelin “sheath”. It works as insulation for nerves and can create more effective conduits for nerve signals.
Well, my friend has been taking it for several weeks now and today she sent me a praise report. She's been able to wiggle her large toes and she hasn't been able to do so for several years. I think it will be a long road, but she is showing signs of some repair. I'm going to share this info with my wife and hopefully this will motivate her to start taking it. I just dump a teaspoon full into my mouth and swallow it. It's not very tasty, but I don't care. Perhaps for her, she'd be better off dissolving it in some warm water and just drinking it real fast.
Here is some info if you want to look into this:

Ivermectin also works well in repairing myelin. And - unrelated - chaga mushroom powder is effective against some forms of cancer.
Zinc plays a big part in making the smell sense cells work properly. Worth trying 30mg/day. I'd also recommend 300mg magnesium/day.
You're right!

I shared this with my MS friend now. As for my wife's condition, I hadn't heard about zinc aiding smell. Her brain doctor had given her B-12 but these doctors just look up symptoms in a book and guess. Anosmia (lack of smell) can occur with people who are B-12 deficient, but that is not always the case of those with anosmia. However, B-12 does help with nerve pain, and she has a compressed disc in her back she suffers with.
I know I'm right. And modest, too! ;-)
Well, I'll have you know that I am WAY humbler than you are. In fact, every day I walk down the street proclaiming, "Hey, I'm the humblest person you'll ever know!" And I'll challenge people to a humility contest if necessary to prove that I am the #1 humblest person EVAR!
This is great news. All these reports of different supplements that are able to heal people is wonderful.
I should try this, thanks!🙏🏻
Great report! Thanks!
