Good to know. Wonder what the actual triggers are. Your son is included in our prayers.
My son has autism and it can be any of the senses that can be overstimulated, a loud noise, a strong smell, a tickle from his clothing, etc... For my son, he gets migraines which can cause nausea.
That's quite a challenge in day-to-day stuff. I feel for you. Praying for healing for all of us.
Yes it can be🙏thank you!
I've never been diagnosed but I'm certain I fall somewhere on the spectrum. I won't go into all the symptoms but they're classic.
I remember years ago while on a family vacation we went with friends to a Rainforest Cafe. I lasted about 10 minutes and had to leave and I've never gone back. If you've ever been you know about all the stuff going on - all the noises, lights, kids everywhere, crowded, birthday waiter chains singing and (in my case) carrying lit sparklers. It was complete sensory overload. I sat in the car listening to Pink Floyd while everyone else ate dinner. Dark Side of the Moon or The Wall always works for me.
The only place I can go with all the different lights and noises is a casino. I think it is probably because they are all programmed - all the sounds flow together, the lights aren't harsh, and all the flashy stuff is around the perimeter.
WalMart doesn't bother me at all - except for it either being too hot or too cold. They're just cheap.
I have an autistic son as well. Different issues, but it makes regular life a challenge. Life-long meds is an awful sentence; medbeds and similar stuff can't come soon enough.
