No funding from the banks? Very interesting! With an American rebirth after Trump's reelection and the Great Awakening, this'll be a great new pro American park for America!
Personally, I have no clue how "Pizza Hut" is even still in business. It's a complete absolute abomination to actual real pizza... and has been practically forever.
PH basically went out of fashion around the same time all those steakhouses went under (Sizzler, Rustler, Bonanza, etc).
I very strongly believe it's a front...How they have enough coin to build a theme park, let alone keep their chain going seems to defy logic. Even McDonald's isn't doing so hot in recent years and they're serving way more customers every day.
As someone who really enjoys a good proper pizza from the Philadelphia/NJ/NYC corridor (the best authentic pizza is found here in the US) - what PH has been peddling as pizza is dog crap. It's greasy, acidic and wonder-bready.
There are no PH locations near me because we voted them all out with our dollar. If you're in a flyover area or in the Midwest, you might not know any better and think that's pizza. It is not. It's slop.
Anybody else think it's a bit fishy given the hit from covid and the fact that most chains aren't really doing as well as they should be?
Seems like you didn't watch the video. Said his fortune came from the sale of 1100 franchises several years ago, as well as other business interests. He's not the originator of the brand and has had nothing to do with the brand for a long time. So the fact that he had something to do with pizza hut in the past may not be relevant. Dont know anything about his political views.
"Pizza" and "Disney park rival" is an unfortunate combination.

How fun! I'd go!
Pizza?
Seems really shady...
