As someone who works in Massachusetts, I can safely say that none of the lakes or ponds are any higher that normal. The rivers were raging a week ago, but the bodies of water don't raise. They are fed and drain as they always do.
That’s not completely true- I too live & work in Mass and ponds here were flooding roadways and are just shrinking back to normal now. Lakes up to the Tippetty top of capacity. While I get that there are ways to control it - bodies of water do swell for a time. Granted this particular body of water is also susceptible to the ocean tide which fluctuates 2x a day anyways.

Average means most of the water is at or around that depth. Does not mean is not possible for there to be 8ft depth in some areas. Expand your thinking.
Exactly why I hate when people bring up averages in situations like this. People have very little knowledge of deviations and means...
Or surface temps instead of ambient temps for fear mongering on the weather
This 100%.
And I suppose he just happened to find that deep spot in the pond...🤔😉
Could have died from the jab. If he had heart problems that knocked him out while on the water he could drown in even shallow water.
Massachusetts has had record rain for the month of July so all bodies of water are swelled right now

Why swim in a pond when you have the beach?
https://nitter.net/DC_Draino/status/1684355362969772034?
No locals here who can go wade around in the pond for us?
Wasn't there also blunt force trauma? People can drown in puddles, you just need to be face down.
