Some islands emerged from the ocean and man had nothing to do with it.
Can't Mother Nature change her mind and have some islands then submerge? She has logic and the laws of physics on her side.
Who are they to judge that THIS one configuration of the planet at THIS point in history, is to be preserved at all cost to humanity?? WHY is THIS geo-climate period right and all the other ones wrong??
Respect SCIENCE, respect Mother Nature and Nature's God. Have a bit of humility. And stop scaring people into submission and the abrogation of their God Given rights.
IF the left and right coasts are going to be submerged according to their "predictions", are they not smart enough to move?? Why should WE the rest of the planet, forego heat and transportation and air-conditioning, so that THEY can live on an endangered coast (if it IS endangered)??
So Ma and Pa Kettle cannot burn wood for their still, and chefs cannot use gas stoves, and everyone must have an electric car so that the electric grid collapses and we cannot go anywhere: but the elites MUST live on the "endangered" coasts?? This makes no sense to the casual observer, and the emperor is wearing no clothes again.
HA! Aber Heute habe ich eine 1847 Heiratsakte transcribed and translated! Actually it took a number of days to do so and gave me some headaches as well. Und dir?
That’s a rarely fine day which I had: I woke up late, cooked a rosbif (picture in daily chat) with a creative sauce, watched an absolutely stupid but actually funny movie (« Murder Mystery 2 » which is as stupid and funny than the first), then I was inspired to create this musical mix: Nongentesimo nonagesimo nono Die (which is « 999th day » in Latin), then I managed to play almost adequately Tschaikowsky’s « Dance of the Sugar Plum Fairy » / Flowkey solo piano adaptation / Pro level after only 2 years of assiduous practice (15-45 minutes a day with no pause). Now I am admiring the sunset on the stone stairs of my Burgundy house whilst gently sipping a glass of tasty local white wine. I have now been through the first week of my 2 weeks of allowed holiday.🤗💐
There's only one volume of water on Earth. At times, more or less of it is frozen. That climate 'scientists' ostensibly don't know this tells you all you need to know.
What really bothers me is that even the "conservative" talking heads seem to assume that "climate change", caused by man, is real, and that there is validity to adopting electric cars, wind power, etc.
Non "scientific" observation: how come a melted glass of ice does not over flow? And conversely, why does a frozen bottle of soda expand enough to break the glass or plastic?
If you turn a liter of water to an ice cube, it will be over 10cm tall as ice as a lower density than water which is how it floats. Basically, ice occupy a fourth more space than the equivalent amount of liquid water, hence the four fifths of an iceberg are underwater.
Water is one of the few substances that expands due to it's molecules crystalizing in a way that takes up more space. Water doesn't rise when ice melts because in order for anything to float it has to displace it's own weight in water, ice does it well enough to even have 10% or so of it's mass sticking out of water.
That's also why adding salt to water doesn't raise it's level because salt dissolves and goes in between the molecules without taking up more space, at least until the water is fully saturated. (Fun fact, there are something like 19 different kinds of ice that have been discovered. You can force different crystal structures by playing around with insane pressures, and some of those types can even sink. But they don't form naturally on Earth)
The whole rising sea levels hysteria is because most of the ice locked up in the poles is actually on land. So any ice already in the ocean that melts would not rise sea levels at all, it would be ice that is on land that melts and it's run off would rise sea levels. But for the most part this is not even happening. Climate change is real, but humans only contribute a fraction of a percent to it. It is mainly from the sun, which is why we see interplanetary climate change. It's rarely mentioned that we are seeing temperatures rise on other planets as well. I don't think we have very many humans driving around on other planets.
More CO2 is good, it makes the planet more green because plants love it. It's all a giant grift. Of anything, a cooling planet would be more dangerous. If we got put into another ice age then pretty much all plant life would die.
Ah. Thank you. I learned a lot. You'd make a good teacher.
Ice on the land mass. But then we wouldn't have yearly melting snow, so do the climate geniuses factor that in? How did lake Bonneville shrivel up to an ever reducing Great Salt Lake? (Actually I know. No river flowing in.)
UP vote for "globular worming."
The rising sea level threat is also bogus. They talk about oceans rising gradually over centuries. IOW, plenty of time for people to move inland.
Look at the population density of the US -- there is PLENTY of room inland!
The earth has undergone many major changes, before man began using energy sources.
A lot of land was once covered by glaciers! The receding glaciers scraped our the water ways. A lot of land was once under an ocean!
Science anyone??
Hello my Dear ArmyLady!🫡💐
Wie geht’s Dir heute?
Remember when they told the Maldives would be underwater by Y2K?

The volume changes if it freezes; it expands. But there is always the same amount, and plenty of it.

A gigantic worm wearing red hot lipstick makes it a red worm for the world.
