Welcome to General Chat - GAW Community Area
This General Chat area started off as a place for people to talk about things that are off topic, however it has quickly evolved into a community and has become an integral part of the GAW experience for many of us.
Based on its evolving needs and plenty of user feedback, we are trying to bring some order and institute some rules. Please make sure you read these rules and participate in the spirit of this community.
Rules for General Chat
-
Be respectful to each other. This is of utmost importance, and comments may be removed if deemed not respectful.
-
Avoid long drawn out arguments. This should be a place to relax, not to waste your time needlessly.
-
Personal anecdotes, puzzles, cute pics/clips - everything welcome
-
Please do not spam at the top level. If you have a lot to post each day, try and post them all together in one top level comment
-
Try keep things light. If you are bringing in deep stuff, try not to go overboard.
-
Things that are clearly on-topic for this board should be posted as a separate post and not here (except if you are new and still getting the feel of this place)
-
If you find people violating these rules, deport them rather than start a argument here.
-
Feel free to give feedback as these rules are expected to keep evoloving
In short, imagine this thread to be a local community hall where we all gather and chat daily. Please be respectful to others in the same way

The SHOCKING Truth About Eating Eggs Daily [Heart & Artery Disease]

Eggs are the most sought-after food in the wild kingdom, and I don't think I've ever seen a raccoon have a heart attack, or a snake, but I'm not sure they have hearts, lol.
Anyway, what the chickens are fed, just like any livestock, impacts greatly the value of their output. We should be getting iodine from dairy, for example.
Oh no! Guess I'm gonna have to slaughter 60 birds...
The egg/cholesterol and "eggs are bad" thing has been going on my entire life.
This week, eggs are bad. Next week, the incredible edible egg, the week after that, they're bad again, following week, they're a superfood.
Eggs ARE a superfood. The highest bioavailable source of protein you can get. Plus, enzymes in the yolk help properly digest protein in the white, not to mention all the nutrients jam packed in it.
People with a "cholesterol problem" are often stressed out, have gut issues, had a vasectomy (which affects cholesterol in men) or something else preventing the elimination of excess cholesterol from their body.
I hadn’t heard of the vasectomy/ cholesterol connection
My goodness I eat them every day, many times cooked in butter, I own hens, been eating them fresh for over 30 years, my heart is probably one of my healthiest organs, my liver is "beautiful" (doctors words, not mine) my levels are fine.
Cholestorol was never the problem. Fat was never the problem. Sugars and excess calcium are the things that will get your heart. But they never tell you to take K2 with calcium.
I know people who have been told they have too much cholestorol, put on statins which erodes their muscles and bones, and then they are put on Calcium without K2, hence actually increasing their risk for heart disease.
Eat eggs frens, and be healthy.
My cholesterol is a steady 220 mg/nl (or is it deciliter?) Anyway, it was flagged as "too high" but my doc didn't say a word.
