There are HR people that move from job to job just to be the axeman. I've seen it. When one with that rep shows up hang on to your ass because it is coming.
Some might not be black hats. Certainly not a job I'd want.
But, somebody needs to handle final paychecks, job references, company assets, insurance including COBRA. People losing jobs need competent transition help, so I would hope some decent people handle those shutdowns.
I'm pretty sure we're about to see an enormous wave of layoffs as the economy tanks and I hope the innocent folks affected receive compassionate, competent help during a rough time.
(Of course, I'm talking out my ass. Never worked a day in HR but graduated with that degree because I could finish a semester early - many decades ago.)
Yea, your words are exactly what I meant. HR people should be compassionate and as helpful as possible to a person who's livelihood was just taken from them in the name of wokeness. The "axeman" types who the poster I responded to sound like they take some sort of pleasure in firing (think Baldwin's character in Glengarry Glen Ross)
It is a service to humanity to take out the trash-- worms and maggots and vultures are doing what's necessary. Those who stay at a scandal-ridden woke organization lost their chance to awaken themselves. Now it's time for the mandatory awakenings, like painful job cuts. Buckle up junior.
Very true. Honestly, if those staffers didn't see the writing on the wall when O'Keefe was forced out, they were blind. They had to have known this was inevitable

Not sure how those types can live with themselves

I would like to reply to this thread, but I have to go talk to "The Bob's"...
Make payroll great again
