Welcome to General Chat - GAW Community Area
This General Chat area started off as a place for people to talk about things that are off topic, however it has quickly evolved into a community and has become an integral part of the GAW experience for many of us.
Based on its evolving needs and plenty of user feedback, we are trying to bring some order and institute some rules. Please make sure you read these rules and participate in the spirit of this community.

In short, imagine this thread to be a local community hall where we all gather and chat daily. Please be respectful to others in the same way
My son wears and loves Irish Setter work boots, its a beautifully well made boot, comfortable, and rugged, he can wear them all day but they hold up for walking in the woods dring hunting season and doing barn work and wood hauling. Pricey, but seems worth i t. They are made in USA.
There's many different types of boots. Motorcycle, work, hiking, dress and cowboy boots. I've probably left out a few styles. If you mean traditional cowboy boots do some research online, YouTube might have videos on different cowboy styles. I finally got cowboy boots about eight years ago and I tried on boots for months. Ariat and Justin are probably the most popular brands and less expensive. My daughter only has Ariat boots. I can't wear either of those brands. Cowboy boots can have pointed or squared toes. For me squared toe is more comfortable and a very low heal. They come in several different heal heights also. I probably tried on over fifty different styles when in Texas. I ended up with Corrall brand. They were made in Mexico when I got them. Not sure if they are still there. They have more bling but I bought them for comfort. If you can get to a local boot store they can stretch the toe and leg for a better fit. The hardest thing to get used to is the heel slip. It's functional for real cowboys I believe it has something to do with heel in stirrup. I wish I had known all this when I was searching. Many western stores had free shipping and returns years ago. I'm not sure about now. If you are looking cowboy:

In my youth I had Frye boots that I wore constantly. Incredibly comfortable especially once they molded to your feet, last for decades, etc, but they’re currently running $150-$500 depending on the style. If I were to decide to get boots like that again I’d probably get a pair of Frye and then try another high-end brand like them, too.
I’m sorry to hear about your house fire, hope things work out for you here and … welcome! I do hope things turn around here (and across the globe) so you can enjoy some sanity.
Frye is an excellent brand. I don't see many here in NC. I did snag a Frye wallet at TJ Maxx a few years ago and didn't realize the brand until after I started using it. I've had it about five years and there isn't any signs of wear and tear. Very good quality leather products!

New Balance. Last I heard, they’re still made in America .
Damn. I have to go hunt for shoes to buy again. Anything bad on Under Armor?
Just buy grey market. Marshall's, Ross, Nordstrom Rack, or amazon clearances
A good tip of mine, and i have bought my wife and I Birkenstocks pennies on the dollar
Go to dealforager website
Search brand you want plus number size
So like
Adidas 9
It will pull up every "amazon warehouse" deal for that brand and size
Also search the euro equivalent size like 39 and so on
the deals can be pretty awesome..$10-30 for expensive shoes
you can also just search the size number and shoes and get like every brand
