I am not able to share any posts now using WhatsApp. Is this an internal issue or because of the new misinformation/disinformation laws passed recently by the EU? I love in Europe.

First of: love in Europe is still possible. TO live there .... to really live there requires total non-compliance ...Its fun!
Second, Whatsapp is compromised to the hilt. Goto Signal, or better yet: elements.io.
Gear up, fren.
edit: I have one channel with alternative sources news, So far not yet troubles, though there is expectation there will be.
I am in the UAE and just shared this article by WhatsApp with a friend.
Good to hear. I lived in Abu Dhabi for 12 years. I miss it.
I don't use whatsapp. *
Whatsapp used to be independent and I did use it then. As soon as Facebook acquired it and its employees I knew what would happen because I had been through this same thing before when Microsoft acquired Skype and promptly wrecked its security.
Sure enough the guys who created Whatsapp could not get along with Facebook's management, policies, and the continuing degradation of the app functionality. They quit, taking with them the huge amount of cash Facebook paid to acquire the product.
They immediately used that cash to set up a clone of Whatsapp, but with all the security put back in. Signal Messenger - user interface is same as Whatsapp and nothing to relearn.

"Speak Freely" without Facebook telling you what you can and cannot share.
Yes, I need to try Signal. I downloaded it ages ago but I have never used it. Maybe, now is the time to do so.
Uninstall the app. Then reinstall.
Tried that. Other than losing all my history nothing changed.
Wow, sorry to hear that!
