On that 2nd video that u/Merkava_4 posted where I indicated there was "even higher temperatures" there were no rims left, but rather just a river of solidified metal. As far as the tires are concerned, the only remaining element of them were the wire weave.
You do realize that if a tire catches fire it can ignite a magnesium wheel and that wheel would be almost impossible to extinguish and would melt as was shown.
I'm not saying there wasn't, and still isn't, tons of fuckery going on with this event, but melted allow wheels is not a hill to die on.
I've seen more carbeques than I care to remember and wheels do indeed catch fire and melt like that with normal car fires.
