So I took some cash out of the bank
🤡 Clown World 🌎
It was more than usual. The teller's manager came over to ask me what it was for. I was so taken aback I didn't say "How is that any of your business?" Which really shocked my husband because I am usually quick on the draw that way. How did we get here? The bank thinks they are the boss of what I do with my money? Just like the IRS things THEY should be auditing US??? We should be asking them where OUR money is, no?
Rant over. Just thought it was interesting how they chip, chip chip away. Over time, we kind of forget who was supposed to be in charge of what.
Huh? They LOVE that. Thats the perfect customer for them.
I kind of agree with you on this one.
I think they hate me as a credit card customer. I buy lots of things on the card, and then pay it off before 6pm the next day.
You know they make a transaction fee from the merchant every time you use your card. They are still making money whether you pay interest or not.
Now, they're not making that money from a lot of merchants, especially smaller mom & pop shops/restaurants. These places have started passing that fee on to any customer paying by plastic. Most recently, my wife an I had to pay an extra 3% at an antique store. I harbor no ill will or resentment to the shops.
This is analogous to what happens when the government raises taxes on manufacturers and other corporations - we, the consumers, are the ones getting screwed. These companies aren't going to take the hit, they're just going to pass it on.
They should say Discount for cash! Instead they make it sound like you are getting charged MORE than normal. I wish every establishment did this. The CC make bazillions of this scam for doing basically nothing.
I use a cc for EVERYTHING unless they give a discount for cash. The CC gives me back several thousand dollars yearly for cash back bonus.
I use cash when they offer discounts for cash or it is a “mom and pop” establishment.
Yeah they dont like that at all.
You would think so, but they consider me to be a high risk now. I've never missed a payment.
My guess is that, this is the result of the suppsoed changes to banking system as its weaned off of the "magic money" from the central banks.
Let me copy/paste a letter from Synchrony Bank when I applied for a Harbor Freight card:
We have received your request for a credit product with HARBOR FREIGHT issued by Synchrony Bank. Unfortunately, we are unable to approve your request at this time.
Our decision was based in part on a credit scoring system that was used to evaluate your request. The most significant reason(s) where you did not score well are listed below:
Recency of a balance overlimit on a bankcard account
Not enough available credit on revolving accounts
Patriot Act shit moving to elimination of cash.
