It's true, N.M. has massive corruption happening all the time....
It's soo damned bad that it pervades all the way from Mayors to the Guv'nr....
It has always baffled me as to WHY anyone in my State would vote like that, knowing how much harm has been wrought upon the populace due to bad DemonRat Policies being implemented by the DemonRats....
And still when they do get one decent individual, that one ends up becoming corrupted by the DemonRats, regardless of the Party....
We just traveled through NM this week on our out and back trip to the Grand Canyon from the East Coast, and my wife and I were astounded at the level of poverty and homelessness on display in Santa Fe, Albuquerque, and a number of other cities and towns we traversed. And then I remembered which political party has run the state of NM most of the time for decades...and the shock wore off.
There's always been a significant amount of homeless here - I think the weather has something to do with that. The problem has REALLY exploded in the last couple years since they legalized marijuana for recreational use - homeless everywhere in dem controlled urban areas and a "dispensary" on every street corner. Most homeless I've encountered here are not home-grown New Mexicans.
Martinez had Richardson dead to rights on his "Pay to Play" scandal and...she decided not to pursue it for the sake of "moving forward". She wound up being a pretty good governor in spite of that but she could have blown the lid off of the corruption and she chose not too.
Makes me think of the Lujan and Anaya Admins, but then King did ok at first, and got lots of accolades for what little he did, just like Anaya, but ended up also being a good for nothing, and Richardson is in that group too, along with what's his face Johnson....
Truth be told, N.M. has had a plethora of shit Guvs for all of my life....
Probably true. If not her actual life, the dems/media (same thing) would have killed any chance she had of doing anything meaningful so she would have been "dead" politically, at the very least.

It would have cost her her life of course & after she was dead it would go uncovered again
