Said I would keep you updated u/HonestBobbin. My wife and I went to go and see Sound of Freedom last night, here in the UK.
We were warned as we showed the cinema employees our tickets, that the air conditioning was broken and it would be very hot in the theatre. I said, "They did that in the States too." She looked very coy. We went a bit further towards the screen room and the couple in front commented to us they knew it had been done in the USA too. We were undeterred.
Having not been to the cinema in years, I was looking forward to it. The trailers were mixed. I said to my wife before "I bet they are going to be all woke". The first one, was a trailer for "Strange Way of Life", I laughed. We also had one for The Exorcist, talk about a wind up. The theatre was about 90% full, the audience was very mixed, young and old, the only seats empty were the ones in the front row, hardly surprising really, no one has a flip-top head.
Don't want to comment too much on the film, was expecting it to upset my wife and I a bit more, but we just had a few moments that we had a lump in our throats. One or two arms were going up to wipe eyes in the audience I noticed, but the film was extremely well done and didn't provoke fear and emotion, it was all tasteful and very informative.
One thing I noticed, apart from the sweltering heat in the room, was how quiet it was, you could hear a pin drop in the quiet bits. Everyone was gripped and fully immersed in the story.
At the end, about 80% of the audience stayed behind to watch the Special Message from Jim Cavaziel. It is up to all of us now to go spread the word and implore friends and family to go and see it.
It was a great movie, and I thoroughly recommend it to anyone thinking about going. Ignore the appalling reviews from the Guardian and the Telegraph, 1 star does not do the film justice. I would give it a 4/5, and the frog in me 5/5.
Wanted to shout out "Where We Go One..." and wait for a response, but I bottled it. Did wear my Kash "Orange Man Bad" t shirt though, just to give my support to DJT...I want people to know it's OK to support him. People noticed alright, kek :D
Glad to see there are lots of awake folks out there. Anyway, go see it if you haven't already, you won't be disappointed. Well done Angel Studios, and God bless Tim Ballard and Operation Railroad!
I too went to see it last night with a fren. The booking also said the air con might not be working, but in the cinema I was at it was fine. I'd say it was about 40% full, with a lot of younger people in the mix. Most stayed after the film ended for the message, it was good to see. We talked after about how well the film was made, how it exposed to a wider audience what happens to these children without the audience being in tears the whole time. It was very quiet during most of the screening too. We did talk about how little advertising of the film had happened prior to its release here, she was shocked when I told her I had tickets as she had no clue it was over here already. Deffo 4/5 film for me, and until there's serious deathly penalty's for all people that do this to kids I struggle to see how we rid this world of the monsters that roam amongst us!
ThankQ for sharing fren. Right with you when it comes to seeing the consequences dished out. Prison sentances and the usual early releases are just not good enough.
Pretty much everyone know's wrong from right, where the line is, and when you cross it currently the consequences are just not bad enough imo.
...great review...
May God bless you richly...
My theater the AC was on but was set hot. Was ok at start then temp kept rising. Sweating bullets at the end. Guy at works wife saw it 1 town over, AC out. I was not expecting the movie to be nearly as entertaining nor hollywood quality by an independent studio.
Any HVAC guys going to see it and offer to fix the AC free of charge? I bet its just flipping the vent on.
The best I heard here was going to media telling all 1) that the theaters on both sides of this one had working AC, how does that happen and 2) after the run of this film is over boycott the theater because its 'so uncomfortable' there and 3) why would the theater manager try to deter people from seeing this movie.... does he condone or participate in child sex trafficking?
Thank you for mentioning me & I am so glad you loved it. Seeing how this happened across the pond too, it is very clear this is a corrupt industry & they are desperately trying to prevent individuals from seeing the truth of what is going on.
We are no longer going to be programmed by wickedness. I can feel it deep in my soul.
Indeed WWG1WGA fren.
Hope you made some new friends with that shirt 😁
AC broken = heat cranked up🔥🔥🔥 Our frens & 🐸s stand strong, stay the course, never give in, never give up... WWG1WGA
The fact that your local theater (well I guess they're all chains now arent they?) feels the need to persecute an audience of an anti-child exploitation film by turning off the air speaks volumes to me. I really can't describe it, I'm almost giddy. It's like a mini version of Christ's persecution by the Jewish leaders.
we went to see the S.O.F. in Wisconsin.... same thing... the room was uncomfortably hot... the hallways and bathrooms were very cool.... AND... whatever was playing in the venue right next to ours was so obnoxiously loud, we could hear it very clearly through the walls...
