A Maine health-care provider wants the nurses it fired during the pandemic for refusing to be vaccinated against the coronavirus to come back to work.
MaineGeneral Health in Augusta has reached out to health-care workers, many of whom were denied unemployment compensation after they were fired, according to The Maine Wire.
Former registered nurse Terry Poland shared the message she received from the employer that booted her.
“You were once a proud member of the MaineGeneral team. Would you consider rejoining us? We would be pleased to discuss options with you,” the facility told her in a text, per The Maine Wire.
Look at how they treated you and they use the words proud member of the Maine General Team. There is no shame in these people. They cared nothing about you and your families.
Any returning nurse should demand a much higher wage for their services, to offset any debts and inconveniences caused by their being fired in the first place. Plus a written guarantee that they will not be subjected to new vaccine mandates in the future.
Do this to me and my family and there is no amount to bring me back.
$125,000 MINIMUM (if more than 5 years experience) for a 36 hour week, plus full benefits and guaranteed nurse:patient ratios or double time when not met. 3-4 weeks vacation to start with increases yearly per year employed. No mandatory over time or on call. Double time if working over 36 hours, triple time if working overtime on holidays. Either fulfill these demands or whistle Dixie. Meet our demands, or go pound sand!
If they all stick together, they might just be able to negotiate such a compensation package.
Exactly. However, most of the nurses I worked with were robots. A small handful were good, the rest were very lazy. Most followed hospital dictates.
Respond with a $20b class action. Fuk ‘‘em into oblivion.
I hope they do file lawsuits.
Does the "discussion " include the ability to refuse any new "vaccination " they come up with?
I doubt it and history I suspect would repeat itself. But no amount would bring me back.
Many hospitals fired the nurses who refused the death vax, then hired traveling / transient nurses for almost double the pay! Ridiculous.
Who would want to be a part of that team ? I hope they tell them to go pound sand.
They should say: Let’s start with back pay.
They way they treated them and their families. There is no amount of money they could offer.
In a text? Even more demeaning than the firing. They said the 'had to' comply with mandates. No, they could have stuck up for their nurses. I hope they don't go back.
I would not go back no matter how much money they offered. They treat you and your family like this they can take a hike.
Hospitals are way often run by crooks. Fixing that needs to be on our to-do list, which is, I admit, long.
I suspect President Trump will fix that.
With the army of 264 million people who watched the Trump/Tucker interview behind him.
People are waking up more each day.
Where's the part where MaineGeneral grovels on their knees and kiss the feet of every employee sacked or jabbed?
I suspect that will be coming soon.
It's too late and they were warned. Many people thought they had you over a barrel
Thankfully they stood their ground. I agree we warned them. I think the CEO cleaning bed pans is poetic justice..
