Understood. Years ago (40+) my husband and I tried to become Catholic. I was attracted to the litergy, the worship. We were attending classes which were concentrated on Father Pia. After the 3rd class, I cornered the teacher, a priest, to get more information about where we were headed. In my questioning, he asked if we'd been baptized or divorced. Yes to both questions. He explained we could become members but not participating members unless we secured annulments of our first marriages. Cost was at least $3000 each. Beyond our means. The irony was that years later i found out the Catholic church doesn't recognize a mormon baptism as legitimate, so ironically I could have joined. I have been rebaptized by an apostolic church.

If you ever looked into annulment, there are many many personal sexual questions asked..... they're sick
